For more information, please visit www.soidog.org JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title and Summary: This Veterinary Surgeon (Southern Mobile) will work under the guidance of the Southern Mobile Veterinary Manager and will travel with the Mobile Clinic around Thailand, performing mass sterilisations of free roaming dogs and cats. The vet will be trained in high-volume, high-quality spay/ neuter in Bangkok & Chachoengsao (3 months training) and then will be prepared to be stationed anywhere in Thailand. This vet will also perform ancillary soft-tissue procedures, treat sick and injured dogs and cats, and communicate with the public regarding importance of sterilisation. Key Responsibilities: • Perform safe, sterile and humane sterilisations on male and female free-roaming dogs and cats. • Follow Soi Dog Foundation protocols and policies are being followed, working to the highest possible medical standards. • Meet daily target of minimum 20 dogs sterilised per vet per day (after 3 months’ training period). • Observe, analyse and solve daily problems at mobile clinic daily. • Communicate with community, dog feeders and owners regarding responsible pet ownership and the importance of sterilisation. • Perform ancillary soft-tissue procedures, treat sick and injured dogs and cats when there is necessity • Manage emergencies and post-op complication cases as they present to the clinic. • Perform euthanasia and terminate pregnancies when warranted. • As part of the Soi Dog team, be available to help as needed, even with tasks that are outside of the job description. Department and Supervisor: The position will be a part of CNVR Southern Mobile Team and report to Southern Mobile Veterinary Manager. Skills and Qualifications: • Must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and valid license to practice veterinary medicine in Thailand. • Work experience at least 1 year (Salary start 40,000 THB and will rise after complete probation 3 months) or fresh graduate (Salary start 30,000 THB+ housing allowance 5,000 THB (6 months) and salary will rise when work complete 6 months and 1 year) • Must be willing to train in high-volume, high-quality spay/ neuter. • Passionate about animal welfare and willing to learn. • Fair English communication skills and must work well with a diverse staff. Location: Training in Bangkok first months and Chachoengsao 2 months, then could be stationed all over Thailand. Currently Southern Mobile Clinic is stationed in Southern province such as Nakhon Si Thammarat, Suratthani , Songkhla and Satun province. Type of Employment: Full time position.
