Secondary SchoolinRadcliffeare seeking a dynamic and experiencedBusiness Managerto join their leadership team and help drive operational excellence across the school on aninterim basis. As Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic and day-to-day management of school operations. You’ll provide expert guidance to the Principal and Governors, lead on business services including finance, HR, estates, IT, catering, and administration, and ensure compliance with governance and regulatory standards. You will be a key member of the School Leadership Team, helping to shape the future of the school and ensure it runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Location:Radcliffe, Bury

Salary:Hourly Rate Equivalent to £47,181 - £52,413

Contract Type:Full time, Temporary (Min. 3 months)

Start Date:ASAP

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership of business and resource functions.
  • Oversight of finance, HR, facilities, IT, catering, and school administration.
  • Management of contracts and service providers.
  • Lead on health & safety, compliance, and data protection.
  • Support admissions, attendance, and school marketing.
  • Ensure effective governance and regulatory compliance.
Key Skills/Experience:
  • Experience in School Business Management, Finance Management or Operations Management
  • Qualification in School Business Management (CSBM/DSBM or equivalent) would be beneficial
  • Proficiency in School MIS
  • Skilled in financial, HR, and premises management.
  • Ability to hit the ground running and pick up the use of systems/processes easily
  • A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • 5 GCSEs (A*-C) including English and Maths is essential
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Strong ICT and data management skills.
  • Ability to manage people and prioritise effectively.
  • Knowledge of school financial procedures and HR legislation.
