About this job

You’ll lead the strategic delivery of content strategies across all of the union’s digital channels, ensuring our online presence is powerful, accessible and aligned with our organisational priorities. You will shape the union’s approach to digital engagement, setting the strategic direction for web, email, social media and emerging digital platforms.

You’ll work closely with teams across the union to ensure content engages members, supports recruitment and organising, and amplifies the voices and experiences of working people across the UK. Your role will be to optimise content across all digital channels to maximise reach, engagement and impact.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Extensive experience of developing and managing strategies for a range of digital platforms, including social media, website and email.
  • Strong experience of developing and leading digital content strategies across multiple platforms, with a deep understanding of accessibility, UX and digital publishing best practice· Strong strategic insight into how digital contentsupports campaigns around recruitment, retention, organising and representation within a trade union or values-driven organisation.
  • A proven track record in optimising digital content for different channels, using data and audience insight to drive decisions and shape content that performs.
  • High-level expertise in multi-channel content planning and digital optimisation, working with other to ensure content works effectively on digital channels.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and regions to embed a unified digital content strategy.
  • A clear commitment to the mission, values and principles of the trade union movement.

This is a unique opportunity to modernise and strengthen the union’s digital engagement, leading a strategic function that works with the rest of the communications team to deliver impactful, member-focused digital content at scale.

This role is based in UNISON centre and may require occasional national travel.
