About the role
The People team are the first point of contact for employees and managers, providing a proactive, professional service, advice across the organisation.
Building effective working relationships and partnering with operational areas across Southern Hospice Group with the aim of achieving the organisations strategic aims through modern, practical and best practice advice and guidance.
You will develop and deliver HR plans, solutions, and improvements in line with the needs and priorities of Southern Hospice Group. Delivering a proactive, responsive, and flexible support to the departments and managers. Ensuring compliance with all the organisation’s procedures and policies, employment legislation and alignment with the organisation’s culture and values.
Essential criteriaResponsible for all aspects of a professional service to your designated areas of the organisation, ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive, objective and quality service
Working with senior managers and leaders to plan for future workforce requirements including recruitment campaigns, restructure and organisational development, and skills development
Responsible for ensuring that case work is dealt with in a timely manner, working with managers to ensure that people issues are resolved at the lowest level through appropriate intervention
Provide support and guidance to managers to ensure plans are in place to quickly to deal with poor performance, barriers to motivation/retention and any issues arising out of HR metrics/ staff survey
Providing sound HR advice, you will support service improvements through creative people management practices and the development of innovative service improvement schemes
Working closely with your managers and People Services colleagues, to identify and implement initiatives to address the workforce challenges within your areas of work, including providing advice and guidance to managers in the development of job descriptions and person specifications to support with recruitment
Monitor and report on the HR metrics for sickness absence and turnover at monthly performance meetings within your designated areas of responsibility and on an ongoing basis, you will also be responsible for analysing workforce data relating to recruitment and retention, identifying actions needed to address any areas of concern and ensuring the development and implementation of any plans to address concerns your designated areas of the organisation
Supervise the work of direct reports on a day-to-day basis and act as a point of escalation for the People Services team for any queries that are more complex
Work with your designated areas of the organisation, Education, and the wider People Services &OD team to develop workforce plans and strategies that address the workforce challenges and (changing) service needs
