About Us
Basketball Northants, the affiliated Basketball England Association for Northamptonshire takes the lead where young people are supported and empowered, whatever their challenges, through the sport of basketball.
Through our programmes and supporting partners we coach and mentor young people from diverse backgrounds to engage in basketball as a diversionary activity away from anti social behaviour, violence & crime.
Children from the poorest families are 3 times more likely to not participate in any extra-curricular activities compared to those from wealthier families, and they lack many opportunities that are available to their wealthier peers. They are more likely to leave school with no qualifications, be excluded from school get involved in crime and gang violence and suffer from mental health issues.
Basketball Northants through NNStreetballers clubs is here to make sure children who love the game get the best possible chance to do well in life and have the resilience to overcome life’s difficulties.
Young people who have the opportunity to play sport regularly and be mentored by coaches who are role-models, are more likely to become adults who have confidence, resilience and leadership potential.
Join us in our vision of supporting these young people in Daventry with an extension of our successful NN Streetballerz programme based at the DSLV Academy.
