This role is a secondment position for three years, during which time you must be an active clinician and remain in the employment of a University of Leeds affiliated NHS organisation or partnership trust.
As the Clinical Lead for Placement Quality (MBChB Secondary Care), you will carry out a key role within the School of Medicine, working proactively and collaboratively you will liaise with clinical colleagues, undergraduate medical education teams and colleagues from the School of Medicine (SoM) to ensure the provision of high-quality clinical placements for our students across a range of providers. The MBChB programme is also undergoing a curriculum redesign, and you will play an important role in shaping its future. Working alongside senior colleagues to the review and refresh of the programme to create an outstanding, transformative learning experience for our students.
We would welcome applications from candidates who already hold a clinical appointment in the region and would like to combine this with an academic role. However, it is essential for applicants who are employees of NHS organisations, that those organisations are affiliated with the University of Leeds; the role has a work-load tariff of 0.2 FTE
Role Description
We are looking to recruit an established medical educator with excellent communication skills with a proven track record in the implementation and quality assurance of clinical teaching. Being clinically active you will draw on your experience to establish and maintain the provision of high-quality clinical learning opportunities across a range of placement providers including acute care trusts, hospices, community Mental Health Trust and independent/private providers. You will be expected to engage with quality assurance data ensuring the delivery of excellent placements that recognise the significance of health inequalities that exist within our society and promote a culture of equality diversity and inclusion.
