Job Summary

To play a key role and assist the Head of Netball in the delivery of Netball to pupils of all ages in
games lessons, practices, and inter-school fixtures, and pre-season training. To provide high-level
netball expertise to support the new Performance Programme.

Main Responsibilities

Netball Coaching:

•  Lead, plan and deliver netball coaching in games lessons, practices, and inter-school fixtures,

and pre-season training.

•  Coach and umpire netball fixtures during the week and on some weekends as required.
•  Provide high-level netball expertise to support the Games and Co-curricular programmes.
•  Ensure all players have access to high-quality coaching sessions.
•  Ensure that the highest standards of sportsmanship are always maintained.
•  Work alongside the Head of Netball to identify, motivate and monitor the performance and

development of all school netball teams.

•  Support the pathway of players to allow them to play at the highest level they can. This may
be in the County pathway or with the Netball Premier League franchises, liaising closely with
students to deliver high quality and consistent outcomes.

•  Work closely with the Head of Netball to increase playing standards across all abilities e.g.

delivering 1-2-1 sessions, supporting individual conditioning programmes and leading video
analysis sessions

•  Supporting the Head of Netball in organisation and administration duties, such as arranging

fixtures, transport and communication of team selection.

Continuing Professional Development:

•  Attend relevant child safeguarding training and other mandatory induction training.
•  Evaluate own professional performance and be committed to improving own practice

through appropriate training and development.
•  Engage actively in the performance review process.

General:

•  Support the wider Sports department team, e.g. covering PE and Games lessons and delivering

cricket sessions on occasion.

•  To attend netball awards and events and contribute as required.
•  Maintain confidentiality at all times in respect of school related matters and to prevent

disclosure of confidential and sensitive information.

•  To participate in staff meetings, INSETs and additional School functions as required.
•  Actively promote and model good practice in equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to

support and uphold fundamental British values.

•  To promote and uphold the ethos and values of Tormead School.
•  To adhere to all School policies, procedures, and risk assessments, including safeguarding,

child protection and health and safety.

any concerns to one of the school’s Designated Safeguarding Leads in accordance with the School’s
policies and procedures.
