Senior Solicitor / Lawyer
Fixed-Term Contract – 9 Months
Full-time (34.5 hours per week) – we are open to a conversation about how you work these hours
Location: Split between home and our London Office: minimum office attendance once a fortnight
Salary: £72,000–£78,000 per annum

Join our Legal team as a Senior Solicitor/Lawyer and be at the heart of shaping the future of how we work with partners, invest in communities, and fund transformative projects across the NHS and beyond.

About the roleIn this high-impact role, you’ll use your extensive legal expertise to support our new organisational strategy. You’ll be instrumental in helping us design and implement:

  • Grant-making frameworks and partnership agreements

  • Innovative social investment models for the NHS

  • Contracts with a range of external stakeholders

You’ll play a key role in enabling Macmillan’s strategic goals through robust legal advice, high-quality drafting, and pragmatic problem-solving. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your commercial legal skills in a purpose-driven context – helping us reach and support more people affected by cancer.

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor or Barrister in England & Wales
  • Experience in contract and commercial law
    A track record of drafting grant-making agreements and/or social investment deals would be hugely advantageous
  • Ideally, working knowledge of charity law and experience in-house or with public/voluntary sector bodies (e.g. charities, NHS, statutory agencies)
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own caseload, while contributing to a collaborative, values-driven team
