The Trust has won the ‘Football League Community Club of the Year’ award four times and now employs more than 100 members of staff. The Trust is forecasting further significant expansion over the next two years following its appointment as a key partner in the redevelopment of Gunnersbury Park [as a sports hub], and its move to new, larger, purpose-built premises directly adjacent to the new Brentford FC 17,500 capacity stadium near Kew Bridge in 2021.

Main Purpose of Job

This role is designed for someone looking to build a career in fundraising. Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships and the wider Marketing & Communications team, the Fundraising Coordinator will play a key part in the planning, delivery and administration of key fundraising activities, campaigns and events, including the opportunity to lead on specific initiatives from development phase all the way through to delivery.

The role is ideal for someone enthusiastic, proactive and eager to learn, who wants to make a tangible impact in their local community while developing a career in the charity sector.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a portfolio of fundraising events, being responsible for nurturing and growing a database of fundraisers and donors across different fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide day-to-day support for the Trust’s fundraising activities, including events, campaigns and donor communications.
  • Coordinate the delivery of all fundraising events (e.g. challenge events, regular giving campaigns and donor acquisition initiatives).
  • Help produce engaging fundraising materials, including email content, social media posts and supporter updates.
  • Support with donor stewardship thanking supporters, updating records, and ensuring excellent supporter care.
  • Maintain accurate fundraising data on internal CRM systems (e.g. Enthuse, Monday.com).
  • Organise in researching and identifying potential new fundraising opportunities.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the Trust to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on brand, and with measurable impact.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining fundraising calendars.
  • Uphold best practice in compliance, safeguarding and fundraising standards.

  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality, especially regarding individuals' personal details and concerns.

Essential Criteria

  • Evidence of experience in developing, delivering and monitoring plans for fundraising across a broad range of activities and products, working to ensure income generation targets are met.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in fundraising and/or marketing within the charity/sport sector.
  • Proven experience of working across the fundraising initiatives as prospecting, proposal development, donor relationship management, grant management and reporting.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work, handle conflicting demands, and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Confidence in using IT systems, CRM and social media platforms.
  • Team player, willing to “roll up their sleeves” and get involved.
  • Passion for community development and the mission of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the local area and its communities.
  • Experience with donor databases, fundraising platforms or CRM systems.
  • Basic understanding of fundraising legal framework and best practices
