The role
St Richard’s Hospice (https://www.strichards.org.uk/) is a key provider of healthcare in Worcestershire and supports and cares for adults with illnesses which cannot be cured, through our community teams, our newly developed state-of-the-art day services and our seventeen beds. We are passionately committed to enabling our patients to take control of their lives as their condition changes and we offer support to those important to them too. You will join us at an exciting time in our development, with two major building projects recently completed providing new therapeutic and social facilities for day patients and a completely refurbished in-patient area.
We have recently completed a redesign of our organisation and clinical services and are now looking to appoint a trustee with current senior finance experience to join our Board and provide advice and support to our teams. The Board of Trustees is ultimately responsible for leading our charity and deciding how it is run; as a trustee, you will help us to make sound decisions about providing the best possible services for our patients within our resources and be committed to our philosophy of continuous development.
We welcome applications from financial experts from all backgrounds and ethnic groups. As well as your financial experience, you will also have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both to act as an ambassador for St Richard’s within our community and to advise, and encourage, our and support teams, and our many volunteers.
The role is voluntary (with reasonable expenses reimbursed) and will require a commitment to prepare for and attend quarterly Board meetings at the hospice in Worcester, the annual Board “Away-day” and the meetings of any committees which you are invited to join.
If you can share our passion for providing extraordinary care for our patients and are interested in finding out more about this exciting role, we shall be delighted to hear from you.
