The opportunity
This Marketing Manager role is critical to the delivery of our ambitious five-year growth strategy and will wear multiple hats. We’re looking for a strategic ‘doer’, someone creative and loves collaboration who will build on their experience of growing a branded product or service business through a specific customer base, demonstrating an acute understanding of how to engage an audience with emotion and purpose. One of the key pillars of our next five-year strategy is ‘more influence’, so the successful candidate will need to demonstrate end to end examples of awareness raising, profile building, brand positioning. The Marketing Manager will be well versed in running multiple campaigns at one time, the measurement of output, operating against clear ROI metrics and putting insight at the heart of decision making. Working across the organisation, this role has been identified as one to step change the business and to unlock the power of our impact stories.
The role is based out of our London Bridge office. We operate a hybrid working practice and expect the individual to be in the office a minimum of 2 x days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Marcomms strategy across the organisation, refining our brand purpose, with a focus on raising In Kind Direct’s brand profile to increase awareness, influence and grow our impact.
- Support the creation, development and implementation of a fully integrated marketing strategy, aligning key objectives of more influence, more money and more productsfor presentation and tracking throughout the year.
- Lead on the annual multi supplier Tesco campaign, working with 6 global FMCG suppliers, Tesco marketing team, internal teams and agencies to deliver engaging customer centric campaign to drive more participation and donations.
- Challenge and revitalise our social & content strategy in line with delivery of our brand plans – Produce valuable and engaging content for social channels, website, blog and sales collateral to attract and engage our target groups. Be the expert on telling our story to the world.
- Lead on our PR and media strategy, considering how, where and when to engage external agencies.
- Manage the internal and external use of branding guidelines – ensuring in line with brand positioning and consistency in how we speak and “show up’’ throughout our content, channels, events and campaigns.
- In Kind Direct’s core service is delivered through a secure ecommerce platform – Work closely with the Ecommerce Manager and Charity Network Manager to deliver digital marketing strategies to optimise the customer journey, supporting customer acquisition and retention.
- Working with the In Kind Direct International team to understand the needs of Network Partners and maximise IKD global presence whilst ensuring a consistent brand experience.

Essential
- Proven experience developing and delivering integrated marketing and communications strategies that build brand awareness and influence.
- Strong background in multi-channel campaign management, including planning, delivery, and evaluation against ROI and impact metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to use insight and data to inform decision-making and improve marketing performance.
- Skilled in content creation and storytelling across social, digital, web, and print to engage target audiences.
- Sound understanding of brand management and maintaining consistency across channels and materials.
- Experience leading or managing PR and media relations, including agency collaboration.
- Excellent stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, partners, and suppliers.
- Working knowledge of digital marketing and the customer journey within an ecommerce or online service context.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Creative, proactive, and collaborative approach, with a passion for purpose-driven marketing.
Desirable
- Experience in FMCG, retail partnerships, or charity/social impact marketing.
- Familiarity with international brand coordination or global partnership networks.
- Proficiency with analytics and CRM tools, and awareness of SEO, SEM, and digital advertising practices.
- Experience managing agencies, budgets, or team members.
- Interest in innovative marketing techniques and alignment with In Kind Direct’s mission and values.
Relevant experience:
Essential
- Proven track record in leading and delivering successful marketing and communications campaigns that raise awareness and strengthen brand positioning.
- Experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies across digital, social, PR, and traditional channels.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple concurrent campaigns and achieving measurable outcomes.
- Experience working with external agencies, suppliers, or partners to deliver marketing activity.
- Hands-on experience producing or commissioning content (copy, visual, or multimedia) to engage specific audiences.
- Involvement in brand management and development, ensuring consistency of messaging and visual identity.
- Evidence of using data and insight to measure performance and inform strategic marketing decisions.
- Experience collaborating effectively with internal teams and senior stakeholders to align marketing with organisational goals.
- Exposure to digital marketing and ecommerce activity supporting customer acquisition or retention.
Desirable
- Experience in FMCG, retail, or consumer brand marketing, particularly involving multi-partner or co-branded campaigns.
- Background in the charity or social impact sector, ideally with experience of campaigns that drive donations, participation, or engagement.
- Experience working on national or international campaignsand maintaining consistency across multiple markets or partners.
- Previous responsibility for budget management, supplier contracts, or line management.
- Familiarity with CRM, analytics platforms, and marketing automation tools.
- Experience leading PR initiativesor managing media relationships.
- Involvement in storytelling-led campaignsthat communicate social or environmental impact.
