About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Clinical Director to join our Executive Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover).
The Clinical Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for all clinical services across Gordon Moody. This includes ensuring that our services meet the highest standards of care as defined by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and that they remain safe, effective, compassionate, responsive, and well-led.
You will lead a multidisciplinary clinical function—including therapists, clinical governance specialists, data analysts, and lived experience practitioners—driving continuous improvement and maintaining fidelity to our recovery-based treatment models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and strategic direction across all Gordon Moody treatment services.
- Ensure all services meet and exceed CQC standards, maintaining inspection readiness.
- Lead and develop the Clinical Governance Framework, ensuring robust risk management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team, promoting wellbeing, learning, and professional growth.
- Maintain fidelity to Gordon Moody’s evidence-based therapeutic models, including CBT and other psychological approaches.
- Strengthen relationships with external partners, including NHS Gambling Harms Clinics, commissioners, GPs, and academic institutions.
- Oversee clinical data collection, reporting, and evaluation to evidence impact and drive service development.
- Contribute to organisational strategy, innovation, and business planning from a clinical perspective.
Person Specification:
You will be a dynamic and compassionate clinical leader, with a deep understanding of psychological therapies and a passion for supporting people affected by addiction.
You’ll combine strategic insight with hands-on leadership, ensuring high-quality care delivery and continuous service improvement.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Doctoral-level qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (BPS accredited) orequivalent postgraduate qualification in a mental health profession.
- Professional registration with the relevant body (e.g. HCPC).
- Substantial experience in psychological assessment, intervention, and supervision.
- Demonstrated success in managing multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or other evidence-based approaches.
Desirable
- Experience in addiction or gambling harm treatment services.
- Knowledge of specialised psychological therapies in addictions and mental health legislation.
- Experience contributing to strategic or organisational development.
