CDDFRS are seeking to assess ambitious and forward-thinking individuals for the Service’s Wholetime Station Manager (SMB) talent pool. Applications are invited from wholetime, competent, Watch Managers and current substantive Station Managers.
The role of a Station Manager is rewarding and challenging and will require you to be able to demonstrate a proven track record in planning, managing high performing teams, cultural change and development of yourself and others.
Individuals will need to be achievement focused with strong communication, negotiating, and influencing skills to ensure that improvements continue to be made within the Service which make a real difference to the communities we serve.
The Service are looking for inspiring and supportive leaders, with outstanding leadership skills and to be successful you will need to have the ability to deliver transformational change and a commitment to all aspects of diversity will be essential.
In what are challenging times for all public sector organisations, CDDFRS wants to stand out from the crowd and continue to collaborate with partner organisations to ensure that local people continue to receive the best possible services.
Those who successfully passed CDDFRS’ the previous assessment centre for Station Manager level and are already in the talent pool need not apply.
Application packs are available by emailing humanresources@ddfire.gov.uk and should be returned electronically to the same place.

For informal discussions, prior to the application deadline, please contact: Graeme Carr, Group Manager ER Delivery, gcarr@ddfire.gov.uk
Assessment Centre: 20 – 24 October 2025

CDDFRS welcomes applications from all eligible candidates, however as women and black and minority ethnic employees are currently under-represented in our management roles, we encourage applications from these groups.
