Join Our Community: Community Development and Facilities Manager

Are you passionate about making a difference at the heart of a vibrant community? The Tansy Centre in South Hylton is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Community Development and Facilities Manager to help us grow and thrive for years to come.

The Tansy Centre is more than just a building—it’s a welcoming space where neighbours come together, friendships are made, and lives are enriched.

Our modern centre features a spacious sports/function hall with a fully equipped catering kitchen, two bright meeting rooms, and a beautiful garden space.

We’re proud to serve people of all ages, from our youngest visitors to our most senior community members, and we always have a busy calendar of regular activities and events.

We’re seeking a dynamic individual who brings:

  • Experience in community development and facilities management
  • A talent for building inclusive programmes and engaging with local residents
  • Skills in day to day running of our office, bid writing, business planning, and financial management
  • Experience supporting and leading volunteers and staff
  • The ability to offer sound advice on governance and turn great ideas into action

You’ll work closely with our supportive Trustee Board, who are eager to help you shape the future of the Tansy Centre. This is your chance to make a real impact—expanding our social welfare programmes, supporting local groups, and ensuring the centre remains a welcoming hub for everyone in South Hylton.

What We Offer:

  • A rewarding 30 hour per week role (with potential to grow to full time, funding dependent)
  • Attractive salary and generous holiday entitlement
  • The opportunity to lead and innovate in a friendly, community-focused environment

If you’re ready to bring your skills and passion to our community, we’d love to hear from you!

Interested candidates are invited to submit their application by email to tansycentre11@gmail.com. Please provide the following:

  • A current CV/resume
  • A brief cover letter outlining your interest in the role and relevant experience
