Hours: Full time 35 hours per week

Location: Stratford, London Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)please note there will be global travel involved in this role c4 times per year

We have a new opening for an Event Programme Manager in the

Cancertools.org marketing team, to co-ordinate and deliver our global events attendance and initiate our in-house events and webinar programme.

About the team

CancerTools.Org, the research tools arm of Cancer Research UK (CRUK), is a non-profit, global community of cancer researchers, academic institutes, and professional societies, with a shared mission to accelerate cancer research. With a history of more than 40 years of managing and providing reagents to both academic and for-profit laboratories around the world, CancerTools.org has been steadfast in its mission of accelerating cancer research by making research tools widely and easily available, extending CRUKS influence to a global audience

As a key member of the marketing team, you will report into the Head of Growth Marketing, lead and develop a comprehensive events strategy to increase lead generation, foster engagement and brand awareness with cancer researchers in academia and industry globally. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the CancerTools events programme, including logistics, collateral, giveaways, training and proactive efforts to drive lead generation and brand awareness through events in key geographies.

This role requires a creative problem-solver, who can find innovative solutions when required at events.You will be an adept communicator, as the role involves a high degree of interaction and collaboration with both internal (marketing team, event attendants from across CancerTools.org), third party vendors, KOLs and event attendees. You will have an in-depth knowledge of best practices and trends at global exhibitions to enhance audience engagement.

You’ll be joining a growing team of individuals passionate about what they do, so we are looking for candidates who thrive in a dynamic startup environment, keen to make the role their own and grow with us.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead and coordinate a successful global events programme and strategy to drive new lead generation, raise brand awareness, engagement and build reputation amongst academic and industry cancer researchers

  • Manage and oversee training of colleagues for clear objectives at events in line with event goals

  • Manage budgets and resources to implement events successfully with forward planning to meet deadlines from third parties

  • Develop a framework for selecting and prioritising events in line with CancerTools objectives

  • Leverage and create engaging content for Social media, web and email channels to promote events to increase awareness and attendance

  • Track the performance of events, and event-led initiatives against KPIs, monitoring and reporting impact, MQLs against target to management

  • Monitor key trends and implement best practices at global exhibitions

What are you looking for?

  • Graduate (within a scientific field with demonstratable marketing experience, or marketing/comms qualification)

  • Demonstrable experience in event strategy

  • Extensive experience in global event coordination, preferably in life science, research, or cancer/oncology related field )

  • Strong organisational, time management, multi-tasking and project management skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in global event logistics, shipping, booth design and event collateral generation

  • Experience in digital marketing to include email marketing, (hubspot or similar platform experience) web and social media proficiency

  • Experience in content and copy creation with a comprehensive understanding of brand positioning

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in developing strong relationships with key stakeholders

  • Strong track record in managing and monitoring budgets
