Sheffield Womens Aid (SWA) is one of the leading domestic abuse organisations in Sheffield. SWA believes that all women and children have the right to liver free from all forms of violence and abuse and have been supporting hundreds of women and children every year since 1974.
As a CYP Domestic Abuse Practitioner you will be given the exciting opportunity to work with children and young people living within SWA refuges. You will make a positive difference to young lives by offering individualised, trauma informed support and play.
Who we are looking for:
A woman who is active, enthusiastic, confident and ready for a new opportunity in a role that makes a real impact:
- Experience of working with / supporting children who have experienced trauma;
- Awareness of safety planning and risk assessing;
- An understanding of domestic abuse and it's impact on the lives of women and children
- Experience of safeguarding procedures and processes (both children and adults);
- Awareness of working within an multi-agency environment / liaising with external agencies;
- Excellent communication and record keeping skills;
- Ability to use ICT;
- Ability to work on a rota including early (08:30 - 4:30) and later (11:00 - 19:00) shifts;
- Willing to participate in an On-Call rota providing out of hours support (approx 1 week in every 8 - 10) - additional payment will be rec'd for on call duties.
- A full driving licence and access to a car with business insurance
