Technical Assistant

What we’re looking for 

We are looking for professionals who is capable of providing technical support related to data aquisition, storage and processing, related to ship structures to deliver effective solutions for internal and external clients within defined parameters.

The role 

  • Receive and log incoming data in line with current procedures.
  • Extract information from supplied data for further processing.
  • Undertake quality checks for own and colleagues work as directed.
  • Propose improvements to service delivery by suggesting changes to processes or work scope, aiming to reduce appraisal effort where applicable.
  • Support service delivery enhancement by effectively communicating internal and external client feedback.
  • Evaluate and recommend the time and value of work to be performed for internal or external clients, aligning with an agreed fee or cost structure.
  • Complete administrative tasks as required, following current processes and procedures.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, maintaining high standards of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.

What you bring 

  • A diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant field of engineering (Naval Architecture, Marine, or Mechanical) from a tertiary institution recognized by Lloyd’s Register, or qualifications from a marine or nautical institution coupled with relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship’s officer or engineer.
  • Strong command of the English language, appropriate for the role.
  • Experience working as a draughtsman.
  • Experience in the marine industry, is an advantage.
  • A solid understanding of the maritime industry, with a strong technical background in a similar field being advantageous.
  • Experience and capability in working with individuals from diverse nationalities and cultures.
