An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Kitchen Lead/ Supervisor to join
our team at Halton Haven Hospice. The Kitchen Lead will be responsible for supervising
a team of 4 kitchen assistants and additional volunteers to deliver outstanding service
to patients and staff within the hospice.

You  will  be  required  to plan,  prepare  and  cook  high  quality,  fresh  and  nutritious  meals,  so
experience working with fresh ingredients would be an advantage.

We are looking for someone who:

•  Has experience with stock and budget management, with the ability to monitor stock

levels and order from established suppliers.

•  Can produce varied weekly menus, being mindful of patient dietary requirements.
•  Has management experience and can coordinate the kitchen rota as well as managing

team training needs, appraisals and absence.

•  Has experience managing kitchen compliance, ensuring that all standards are in line

with environmental health processes.

•  Has  good  experience  and  understanding  with  HACCP  management  and  risk

assessments including a hands-on approach to cleaning schedules.

Ideally, you will have experience working within a similar environment as part of the role will
be to interact with patients to encourage eating nutritious meals, and you must be comfortable
with IT as we operate a paperless kitchen with online platforms. It would be an advantage if
you have experience working external events and providing outside catering.

The successful applicant must hold relevant qualification (NVQ or City & Guilds) in catering /
cooking and hold a minimum level 2 health & hygiene certificate. You will have a positive
attitude, be highly motivated, enthusiastic and friendly and be willing to go above and
beyond to ensure that our patients receive outstanding care.

Regular working hours will be Monday to Friday with flexibility to work weekends as and
when required.
