Role
So does all of the above describe you? I am seeking a PA to provide 1:1 support to my 29 year old son who is on the Autistic Spectrum alongside other varying associated conditions. He is a delightful young man with a great sense of humour and gets on brilliantly with his PA's, they have stayed with us for years and we are extremely lucky to have such lovely ones. But we now wish to recruit another to add to our team so that we can expand on opportunities and also to cover for sickness, holidays etc. This will mainly be to take my son out for lunch, to social activities locally or play games in our house. No personal care is required. He is mobile and likes to be independent but can need help to manage unpredictable. He needs someone who can react sensitively but also try to make it a fun, engaging time when out. The right person will be able to develop a friendly understanding rapport who can see the real person from his body language and not the person he sometimes masks to be to please others. Being a friend as well as his mentor, actively boosting his self-esteem and confidence. Although lone working, you will work closely with him and his family so that we share any information, as however many hours you do, you will be an essential role in his life. With his little quirks, he will bring you smiles and laughter, you may consider things that you have never thought about before and I hope you will find the role rewarding. If you are interested, we would absolutely love to hear from you.
