Rate of Pay: £12.60 per hour

Job Description:
A Personal Assistant is required to support an 18-year-old young person with a diagnosis of Autism, OCD, and anxiety. They identify as non-binary and use they/them pronouns, which is very important to them.
The client currently struggles to leave the house but is keen to gain more independence. They enjoy watching TV-particularly Anime, Disney, Stranger Things, and Supernatural. They also love creating their own worlds and have previously enjoyed role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons. They are very talkative and enjoy discussing their interests in great detail.
They respond well to positive, cheerful people and require someone with patience who can support and facilitate their OCD-related rituals.
Main Duties:
Build a positive and trusting relationship with the client within their home environment
Support the client in accessing leisure and social activities outside the home
Encourage and promote the client’s independence and confidence in community settings
Personal Requirements:
Must be respectful and affirming of the client’s identity, including consistent use of they/them pronouns
Patient, understanding, and able to support OCD-related rituals without judgment
Positive, friendly, and emotionally supportive
Reliable and consistent, with the ability to build trust and rapport over time
Sensitive to anxiety and able to provide gentle encouragement to support independence
Car driver preferred — the successful applicant may be required to drive the client’s Motability vehicle
Further information:
A probationary period will be included for the successful applicant.
The successful applicant would be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (free).
