The Research Officer will play a significant role in supporting the Senior Research Manager and wider team to deliver our researcher engagement strategy, including our flagship research conference and engagement events and support research culture. This role is essential to foster ARUK's research objectives and promote engagement within the research community. They will be collaborating with the Research Team and other teams at Alzheimer’s Research UK, such as the Events Team and the Communications and Fundraising teams. This role sits within the Research Directorate, an ambitious, supportive and friendly team that funds the best research to transform the lives of people affected by all forms of dementia. We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and organisational skills to help us make a significant impact in our organisation and wider research community. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Research Conferences and Events Support the development and delivery of the scientific programme and content for Alzheimer’s Research UK’s annual research conference. Support the collaboration of leading researchers and internal teams at Alzheimer’s Research UK, to build the programme for the UK’s largest dementia research conference. Contribute and implement plan for continuous improvement for the Alzheimer’s Research UK conference and events programme in collaboration with the Events team. Support the development and delivery of events for the wider research team, and our strategic partners. Working across mass participation fundraising products, you will deliver market-leading campaigns, develop creative and engaging supporter content and explore channels of communication with our supporters to achieve further transformational growth. This role requires an ambitious marketeer with previous product/event marketing experience, outstanding copywriting skills and an enthusiasm for identifying and implementing new social and digital technologies. You will work alongside another Marketing Campaigns Officer to support the Marketing & Engagement Manager and the Head of Sporting Events on the development of SLF campaigns. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Content planning & management: Collaboration: Coach teams to ensure web content is up to date and stakeholders are effectively utilising our project management platform to request changes. Content development: research search intent to provide recommendations for engaging and informative content for ARUK's website, including news articles, blog posts, fundraising appeals, research updates, educational resources and more. Alzheimer’s Research UK has established a number of high profile and strategic programmes of work to help us advance our work towards a cure. The Head of Strategic Programmes plays a pivotal role in developing the work of these initiatives and ensuring that they have opportunities to partner and grow. This is a key role in supporting our translational and drug discovery work to help us achieve impact for people affected by dementia. The post-holder will have extensive experience in managing complex research programmes, engaging and influencing high-level stakeholders as well as bringing expertise in research to deliver the strategic vision of the programmes. The post holder will work closely across the research team to scope and develop new programmes of work and will work across the organisation with colleagues in Policy and Communications, Fundraising, Finance and Governance to ensure the successful delivery of cross organisational programmes.
