    The

    St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales)is looking for a dedicated and enthusiasticAssistant Shop Managerto support the day-to-day running of our charity shop on a part time basis. You’ll work closely with the Shop Manager to maximise sales, manage volunteers, and ensure our shop is a welcoming and vibrant place for customers and donors alike.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Support the Shop Manager in achieving sales targets and income generation through donations, Gift Aid, recycling, and online selling.
    • Help maintain high standards of merchandising and stock rotation to ensure a fresh and appealing shop floor.
    • Assist in recruiting, training, and leading a team of volunteers.
    • Deliver outstanding customer service and foster a “sales through service” culture.
    • Take responsibility for the shop in the manager’s absence, including key holding and cash handling.
    • Contribute to the shop’s social media presence and community engagement.
    • Ensure compliance with health & safety, SVP policies, and retail procedures.

    What We’re Looking For:Essential:
    • Retail experience with a proven track record of meeting targets.
    • Strong communication and organisational skills.
    • Good level of English, Maths, and IT proficiency.
    • Passion for charity retail and empathy with SVP’s values.
    Desirable:
    • Experience in charity retail and working with volunteers.
    • Knowledge of EPOS systems and visual merchandising.
    • Understanding of the SVP and its mission.
