An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified Band 6 Physiotherapist to join our Critical Care / Surgical team. This is a newly created static post. If you are motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic WE NEED YOU!

The successful candidate will work as part of a highly experienced, friendly team of a Band 7 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, Band 6 Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and also rotational band 5s, Band 4s and support workers. A good range of Band 5 rotations is essential. The post holder will be expected to provide regular post graduate training within their clinical specialty and work alongside Band 7s to complete some departmental managerial duties.

Main duties of the job

Band 6 Physiotherapists work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends and carers who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services. Band 6 therapists are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided across the health economy by:

  • To manage daily a clinical specialist caseload within Critical Care and the Surgical Wards and be responsible for the assessment, formulation and treatments and to give highly specialised therapy advice to members of the MDT.
  • To deputise for Team Leader on clinical and managerial issues within the team
  • To be actively involved with training within the Department

Each clinical area has friendly supportive teams where regular meetings, CPD and supervision is available

Goverance

Essential criteria
  • Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS and Primary Care including Clinical Governance, NICE and CQC
  • Knowledge of up to date clinical / evidenced based practice.
  • Able to support the implementation of local and national agenda’s for health under the guidance of the team lead / service manager

Qualifications

  • BScPhysiotherapy
  • HCPC registration
