Consumer PR Specialist

As our Consumer PR Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of sharing the incredible work of Dogs Trust; creating innovative, insight-led campaigns that connect with the public, celebrate the bond between people and dogs, and drive rehoming, fundraising, and supporter engagement across the nation.
About the role:
As a Consumer PR Specialist you will:
- Lead proactive, consumer-focused media coverage across national, regional, and lifestyle outlets.
- Create engaging, shareable stories for media and digital channels in collaboration with social teams.
- Build and manage media, influencer, and brand partnerships to amplify Dogs Trust campaigns.
- Maintain strong journalist relationships to secure impactful, high-profile coverage.
- Support integrated campaigns that engage new audiences and align with Dogs Trust’s strategy.
- Be part of the busy Dogs Trust press office, dealing with media enquiries
About you:
You will have strong experience in consumer-facing PR, creating impactful media and digital content that inspires and engages the public. With excellent communication skills and a creative, results-driven approach, you’ll manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced environment. Highly organised and collaborative, you’ll build strong relationships, use audience insight to shape stories, and bring fresh, innovative ideas to Dogs Trust’s communications.
About the team:
The Public Relations team sits within the Marketing & Communications directorate. We help people to know, love and understand the charity and to take action to support the charity’s work. We use our understanding of Dogs Trust and the needs of our wide and varied audiences to produce impactful, creative, on-brand communications.
