1:1 Senior School Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our Upper School community at ACS International School Egham. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to make a meaningful difference to their academic, social, and emotional development.

The Role

You will provide tailored 1:1 academic and pastoral support to Upper School students in Grade 6 (age 11) and Grade 11 (age 17), helping them to engage confidently in school life and achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable, and proactive, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students while working closely with teachers and other members of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualised 1:1 support across a range of lessons and subjects
• Help students maintain focus, engagement, organisation, and independence
• Adapt and support the use of learning materials according to individual needs
• Encourage students to develop confidence, self-advocacy, and independence
• Provide appropriate pastoral and emotional support throughout the school day
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and parents to support student progress
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Promote and uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and student wellbeing

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with secondary or upper school-aged students
• Has an understanding of additional learning needs, with SEN experience highly desirable
• Is calm, patient, positive, and resilient
• Is confident adapting their approach to meet individual student needs
• Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Is organised, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Is genuinely committed to supporting young people and their wellbeing
• Understands the importance of safeguarding and maintaining professional boundaries

• Contract: Full-time, term time only, until 31/7/27
• Hours: 08:30 – 15:30
• Location: ACS International School Egham, TW20 0HS
• Salary: Fixed rate
