About the role
The role is crucial in ensuring that Professional Competence for Transport Managers (Passenger Transport and Road Haulage) Level 3 examinations are delivered to a high standard. The role will be essential in leading a team of examination markers and overseeing all assessment activities to ensure they are conducted fairly, consistently, and in line with regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Compliance and Regulation, this role will be responsible for managing pre- and post-examination processes, including:

Exam paper standardisation

Marker sampling and standardisation

Awarding meetings
-
Investigations into maladministration and malpractice
The role will ensure that all examination activities comply with Skills and Education Group Awards standards and any relevant regulatory requirements, maintaining the integrity and quality of the qualifications.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in this role, we require you to have an in-depth knowledge of the Professional Competence for Transport Managers qualification, including both Passenger Transport and Road Haulage sectors. You should have experience leading assessment teams, managing examination marking, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Educated to at least Level 3 in a relevant vocational subject and to Level 4 in Externally Assuring the Quality of Assessment Process and Practice is highly desirable.
Strong time management, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and IT skills will be critical in this role. You will also need the ability to foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including examination markers, paper writers, and approved centres.
