This role will provide Family Help as part of an integrated offer to families in line with the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill requirements. Delivering high quality early help support to families to help children, young people and families stay together and get the help they need. The role will involve working in partnership with parents and carers to address difficulties that families face and seeking to make positive change alongside the family

Main Responsibilities:
• To respond to initial contacts and referrals from partner agencies (e.g., schools, health, police) and the public to determine the most appropriate pathway for support, whether through Early Help or Safeguarding.
• To conduct high-quality, strengths-based assessments utilising the Early Help Assessment (EHA) to identify the needs, strengths, and goals of children and families.
• To work flexibly and collaboratively with professionals across Children’s Services and with other agencies, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring a holistic approach that considers the entire family's needs.
• To accurately record and update information across various systems (e.g., Liquid Logic Children's System, EHM and INFORM) within required timelines.
• To provide advice and consultation to families and professionals on thresholds and available support services, fostering shared responsibility within the partnership.
• To collaborate with families to create tailored support plans, as necessary, to coordinate service delivery.
• To develop your knowledge of local resources, including community and statutory services to enable effective access to wider support.
• To work together with partners, wider organisations and local agencies.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• Educated to NVQ Level 3 or above in social work, health, education or equivalent experience and evidence of a commitment to continuing learning and professional development.
• Skills, knowledge and aptitude for building and maintaining professional relationships with children, young people, colleagues, partners & families.
• Skills, knowledge and experience of using a range of different methods and models of working with children, young people, parents, carers and/or families.
• To have an awareness and a good understanding of safeguarding issues and an understanding of the importance of working within agency policy and procedures.
• Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced Level DBS
