About Strategic Place Manager (Yeovil, Taunton, Chard)

We are looking to recruit two Strategic Place Manager positions. One full time to work across our coastal strip as part of our Sport England Place investment and one part time funded directly through SASP to work in Yeovil, Taunton and Chard.

These are exciting opportunities to lead on the development of the place-based partnership work in Somerset, embedding systems leadership and collaborative community development, to positively influence system transformation around active lives. The role will require the postholder to work in the community with organisations and residents to identify locally led priorities around physical activity, to address health inequalities and provide opportunities for residents to lead a healthier lifestyle.

A key part of this role will be to work closely with partners such as Sport England, our Integrated Care Board and Foundation Trust, Somerset Council and other external and internal partners, whilst ensuring the place programme is delivered effectively. We are seeking two well-organised, enthusiastic individuals who have excellent problem-solving skills and experience of managing teams to help deliver our aspirations around new ways of working in place. The ideal candidates will be able to work independently, have good reporting and presentation skills and thrive on developing relationships with multiple stakeholders.

Closing date for applications is Monday 8th December. Applications can be made online using the link, or a paper copy can be requested by emailing recruitment@sasp.co.uk.

SASP offer flexible working but there is an expectation that the postholders will access the SASP Offices a minimum of once per week.
