Primary Objectives:
Carry out duties in a courteous, helpful and professional
manner and provide supervision to facilities, thereby
ensuring the safety of all facility users.

Be a flexible and proactive team member who
inspires improvements and developments in people,
performance and processes.  To inspire a “best in
class” approach in representing our brand internally
and externally.

Main Duties and responsibilities:
1.   To build positive and effective relationships with

customers, partners and colleagues

2)  To assist in the delivery of high-quality events

3)  To assist in setting up equipment for events
  and activities

4)  To assist effective stock management processes

5)  To prepare, take orders and serve food & beverages

9)  To ensure both opening and closing checklists
  are completed

10) To ensure till and cash handling is in accordance
  with financial procedures shown in training

11) To operate in accordance with the Trust’s

compliance policies relating to Health and safety,
Equal opportunities and customer care

12) To undertake the duties, as required by the line
  manager or the Head of Service and any other
  duties, which may from time to time be requested

13) Attend Meeting & Training (Health & Safety,

Fire Procedures)

General responsibilities:
In addition to the main duties and responsibilities
identified for this post, every employee has a number
of general responsibilities:

14) To wear the uniform provided at all times

15) To adopt a high standard of customer care at all
times.  If a customer requires assistance, even if
this does not directly relate to your job, make every
effort to help or find someone who can.

16) Help to keep the facilities well maintained by
picking up litter when you are in public areas
and by reporting any faulty equipment or any
areas requiring cleaning.

17)  Help to conserve energy by ensuring that the doors
are closed and lights are switched off in rooms not
in use.

Training and Development:
Hyndburn Leisure is committed to maintaining the
Investors in People standard.  As part of this process
your line manager will carry out a periodic “Staff
Appraisal” with you.  The review is a “two-way”
interview, which will evaluate any training/development
undertaken, identify your future needs and your
contribution to the operation of the service.

NB. In order to ensure that job descriptions are kept
up to date, all employees are given the opportunity
to regularly review their roles through the Trust’s staff
appraisal scheme.  Staff are therefore required to take
a reasonable and flexible approach to changes arising
from working practices or changing workloads.

Personal Attributes

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience of working in a restaurant, bar/pub
or events environment

Previous experience in dealing with a variety
of customers/public

Previous experience of dealing with and handling cash

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge of events/bar operations

Ability to rotate and replenish stock

Knowledge of licensing laws with regards to the
consumption of alcoholic beverages

Knowledge of different types of drinks

Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Good communication skills

Good numeracy skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to work irregular/flexible hours and willing to
contribute to additional hours as required

Be prepared to wear the uniform provided

Be prepared to work evening/weekend and Bank Holiday
if required

Be prepared to attend training sessions
