The Role
Inclusion Education is launching a new specialist school for young people aged 11–16 with chronic mental health needs and neurodiversity, opening in January 2026. We are seeking a Deputy Head of Provision to support the Head of Provision in establishing and leading this new school, helping to shape its culture, curriculum, and operational systems in line with Inclusion Education’s values and the “Inclusion Way” model.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a new provision from the ground up, working within a highly supportive and mission-driven organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
As Deputy Head of Provision, you will:
- Support the Head of Provision in developing and embedding the school’s ethos, vision, and strategic direction.
- Lead on specific areas of school improvement, including curriculum development, teaching and learning, and staff CPD.
- Contribute to safeguarding leadership and ensure effective pastoral systems are in place.
- Assist in the operational management of the school, including admissions, timetabling, and resource planning.
- Promote and model the “Inclusion Way” pedagogy across the school.
- Deliver high-quality teaching as part of your leadership role, modelling best practice and supporting staff development.
- Line manage designated staff, providing coaching, feedback, and performance oversight to support professional growth and accountability.
- Support staff development initiatives, including induction, training, and ongoing CPD, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Mental Health Leads to ensure learner needs are met holistically.
- Build strong relationships with learners, families, and external partners.
- Lead on assessment, tracking, and reporting of pupil progress.
- Deputise for the Head of Provision when required, including attending governance meetings and representing the school externally.
- Support the recruitment, induction, and development of staff.
- Collaborate with the wider Inclusion Education leadership and Central Services team to share best practice and contribute to organisational development.
