Electrical Installation and Maintenance Trainer

Would you like to work as an Electrical Installation and Maintenance Trainer / Assessor and you have a sound experience in Electrical Industry? If the answer is Yes then this may be just the opportunity you are looking for! Gen 2 (part of City and Guilds) is currently looking to add to their experienced team of Trainers/ Assessors; We have got an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Installation & Maintenance  Trainer in our Ulverston centre.

The role is to deliver, assess and where necessary offer support to learners engaged in Electrical courses up to level 3, in accordance with the awarding body guidelines.

Please note:  You do not have to hold a formal teaching qualification to apply for the trainer / lecturer roles as these will be provided.

About The Role

What you will be doing:

  • To deliver and assess Electrical Engineering courses up to and including level three.
  • To develop and maintain the current Electrical Installation and Engineering course material including lesson plans and schemes of work for a range of courses.
  • Assist in assessing, changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures. (ILP etc).
  • To review course content and delivery methods on a regular basis.
  • Assume responsibility for meeting his/her course and learner performance goals.
  • To ensure all relevant evidence of learning is accurately and correctly documented and completed for each learner.
  • Provide feedback and support to learners on a one to one/ group basis.
  • To assist in the overall development of the training centre.
  • To assist in the delivery of course material outside of the subject of Electrical Installation & engineering.
  • To prepare and assist in internal and external audits.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Trainer.
  • To provide pastoral care and support to students.

About You

A successful candidate will have a proven experience in Electrical Installation and Maintenance.

You will also:

  • Be competent in domestic or industrial installation & maintenance, you will ideally hold your 18th Edition. Knowledge and experience on plant and process control systems would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Hold a level three qualification in Electrical Installation and NVQ or AM2.
  • Have a sound knowledge of Electrical Installation & Electrical engineering principles.
  • Good numeracy, literacy and computer skills.
  • Communicates effectively, both orally, and in writing, with learners, employers and other professionals.
  • Hold a Full driving Licence as you may be asked to deliver training from our Workington and Carlisle centres.
