About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Trust Fundraising Manager to lead and grow our trust and foundation income. This is a pivotal role within our fundraising team, responsible for securing small (under £10,000) and medium (£10,000–£50,000) grants, managing reporting and monitoring processes, and cultivating relationships with funders and stakeholders.
The role will work closely with the Deputy Director of Fundraising to manage and expand trust fundraising activity across the organisation, contributing to strategic development and income growth.
We offer flexibility in working arrangements, with the option to work remotely, from our Bracknell office, or in a hybrid capacity. However, we require a minimum of two consecutive office-based days per quarter to foster team collaboration and strategic planning. The role also involves occasional national travel to meet funders, visit funded projects, and represent the organisation at key stakeholder events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a trust fundraising strategy to meet income targets.
- Research, write, and submit compelling funding applications to trusts and foundations.
- Manage a portfolio of existing funders, ensuring timely reporting and stewardship.
- Monitor grant performance and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
- Collaborate with programme and finance teams to gather project information and impact data.
- Maintain accurate records using the organisation’s CRM/database (Access Evo CRM).
- Represent the organisation externally, building relationships with funders and partners.
- Work with the Deputy Director of Fundraising to identify new funding opportunities and contribute to strategic planning.
- Contribute to cross-team initiatives and organisational development.
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience in trust fundraising (or commercial equivalent), with a track record of securing grants.
- Strong bid writing skills with the ability to tailor proposals to different audiences.
- Excellent project management and organisational skills.
- Ability to analyse financial and impact data for reporting purposes.
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel nationally and attend in-person meetings/events quarterly.
Desirable
- Experience managing grants in the £10K–£50K range.
- Familiarity with CRM (Debra use Access Evo CRM) systems and fundraising databases.
- Experience in a commercial bid writing or project management role (outside of charity sector) will be considered for candidates who demonstrate transferable skills.
