Reporting to: Operations Director

Hours / Working Pattern : A full time role that requires a flexible approach to working hours.

Salary : Dependent on qualifications and experience, circa £40,000

Job Summary:

The Catering and Events Manager will lead the planning, organisation and delivery of all catering services and
events across Rougemont School. This pivotal role ensures that daily catering provision meets the highest
standards of quality and service, while also delivering a wide range of internal and external events that reflect
the School’s excellence.

The successful candidate will combine strong leadership, operational expertise and customer service
excellence, shaping both the reputation of the School and its commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of  school and external events to a professional standard.

Collaborate with the Event Co-ordinator, Operations and Marketing Team to ensure client
requirements are met.

Manage all event logistics, including room set up (audio visual, seating), catering, bar, services and
coordination with external suppliers.

Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring effective cost control and financial accountability.

Oversee the full event lifecycle, from initial planning through setup, delivery and breakdown ensuring a
smooth operation and minimal disruption to the School’s primary function.

Catering Operations

• Lead, plan and oversee daily catering operations (lunches, snacks and special dietary needs).

• Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations.

• Design and implement nutritious, well balanced appealing and cost effective menus.

• Manage the procurement of food, beverages, and catering supplies within budget parametres.

• Oversee the catering team rotas, training, development and performance management.

• Maintain high standards of food presentation, portion control and waste reduction.

• Ensure excellent customer service, including attention to hospitality, special requests and effective

communication.

Leadership and Communication

• Lead and develop the catering and events team, aligning team goals with the broader School vision.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism and continuous improvement.

• Act as the primary point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and external partners regarding

catering and events.

• Respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner.

• Promote and implement sustainable practices across catering and event operations (eg, eco-friendly

materials, waste reduction, recycling.)

Administration and Compliance

• Maintain accurate records of catering expenses, invoices and event documentation.

• Ensure full compliance with local authority regulations including health, safety, fire and food hygiene

standards.

• Conduct regular risk assessments for events and catering activities.

• Prepare performance reports and event evaluations for Governors and SLT.

A flexible approach to working hours and willingness to work evenings and weekends as
required.

Qualifications and Experience:









Relevant qualification in catering. hospitality or event management, or a related field.

Evidence of continuing professional development.

Health and Safety training / First Aid qualification

Proven experience in hospitality management, catering industry or event coordination.
