Making remote charity roles clear

The details candidates need before applying to remote, hybrid, and location-flexible charity jobs.

Remote and hybrid roles need more detail than a location label. Candidates need to know how the work actually happens.

Define the pattern

State whether the role is fully remote, hybrid, or location-flexible. If office attendance is expected, include the frequency and likely office location.

Explain travel

Many charity roles include visits, events, or service delivery days. List expected travel early so candidates can judge whether the role fits their circumstances.

Be clear on equipment and support

Tell candidates whether equipment is provided, how onboarding works, and how remote team members stay connected to decisions.

Keep location filters honest

If applicants must live in a region, say why. If they can work from anywhere in the UK, avoid adding a city that makes the role look narrower than it is.
