The young man is in his twenties and receives all his fluids, food and medication via a gastro tube. It is very important medication is received in a timely manner. He is wheelchair bound and has a ceiling track hoist and requires full support to transfer.
We are looking for a support worker who can follow support plans and protocols very closely as it is crucial due to the complexities of his conditions. He appreciates staff who have a sense of humour and who are patient. Someone who can provide full supervision to ensure his safety is expected.

Percussionists (Tuned)
Trinity Concert Band
Reading's Trinity Concert Band currently have vacancies for percussionists. We have a regular kit player, so the majority of the playing would be on tuned percussion. If you play to a high standard, have previous ensemble experience and can commit to weekly rehearsals and regular concerts, we’d love to hear from you!
We are a non-auditioning band, but to assess your suitability we’ll invite you along for a four week trial period to see how you get on. If we are mutually compatible you will be invited to join permanently.
Rehearsals take place at Trinity Church, Earley on Tuesday evenings from 7:45pm-10pm.
One of the UK's leading non-professional community wind bands, Trinity Concert Band entertain audiences in and around Berkshire with our high quality concerts featuring music to suit all tastes. Our repertoire includes classical transcriptions, original wind band compositions, music from stage and screen, and light popular music. We perform up to five formal concerts a year at venues in Reading and Wokingham, and summer brings the opportunity to put on light performances at bandstands across the area.
We are regular entrants at the National Concert Band Festival, a day long festival of music where bands are judged on their performance. In April 2018, the band travelled to Manchester where we were thrilled to be only one of two bands to receive the coveted Platinum Award!
Our annual full-day workshops give us the opportunity to take on some new, challening repertoire under the direction of a guest conductor. Previous conductors to take our workshops are Nigel Hess, Rob Wiffin and Duncan Stubbs (both were formerly Principal Director of Music, Royal Air Force) and David Cole (former Director of Music, The Royal Marines Band Service, and assistant producer of the annual Festival of Remembrance).
We've previously toured to Germany, the Czech Republic and Malta, with plans to tour again in the near future.

Wanted! Youth Worker!
Two years ago Buchlyvie Community Council set up a Youth Café to provide a safe space for young people to meet, socialise, have fun, make new friends and learn new skills.
The Café is open every Friday evening during term time, 7.00 to 9.00pm at Buchlyvie village hall and is run by volunteers, who all have PVG’s through Youth Scotland and Disclosure Scotland. We have a core group of 15 -20 young people aged 12-16 years from Buchlyvie and friends from other local villages. There’s table tennis, pool, arts, crafts, games and most weeks an optional activity for everyone to join in. Activities range from baking, music, banner making, shadow puppets, football, first aid, film making and taekwondo! Young people are encouraged to take a role in running the programme.
Youth Worker Wanted!
We now have funding to employ a youth worker to run the Friday night sessions, 7.00 -9.00pm, supported by volunteers. Additional free training with Youth Scotland is available.

The role
As the Employment Law Consultant, you will be a subject matter expert, responsible for providing advice and guidance to inform practical content for members to help them comply with employment law. You will help lead CIPD’s analysis of developments in employment law, including new legislation or emerging case law to highlight implications for people professionals, people managers and workplace practices. You will be developing evidence-based recommendations, producing accessible policy briefs and guidance, as well as engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies and trade unions.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading the research, development, and evaluation of CIPD’s position on developments in employment law and employment relations.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on complex employment law and employee relations (ER) matters to CIPD’s knowledge content and learning teams and other key stakeholders, including the Chief Executive, the Director of the People Profession and the Head of Public Policy.
- Writing and reviewing content as required to allow the CIPD to present accurate, up-to-date information in line with legal developments, often working to quick deadlines.
- Communicating essential information for HR professionals through practical, clear, and easy-to-digest guidance.
- Monitoring the employment law and ER policy environment for emerging themes and building strong networks with stakeholders from the government, third sector, and professional networks to influence the national policy agenda.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including government, trade unions and employee representative bodies.
- Working with the comms and knowledge content teams to ensure that the implications from developments in employment law and CIPD’s view on these are communicated effectively to members and externally through the media
- Contributing towards the member engagement by hosting webinars and engaging with our online and in-person communities.
What you’ll need to be successful
- Qualified solicitor with relevant post-qualification experience.
- In-depth knowledge of current and historical employment laws, regulations, and HR/ER policies and practices within the UK.
- Previous experience of working in a role advising on employment law and employment relations and providing practical advice and guidance to employers/the people profession.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting policy analysis, analysing complex information, and producing high-quality briefing papers, reports and position papers.

Linn Moor School and Campus Education Service
Working across both the Education and Care services at our Linn Moor Campus, you will help to provide a quality service to meet the needs of our students with additional support needs. An SCQF Level 7 in Social Services and Healthcare (or equivalent) and an HNC in Social Care would be beneficial but it is not essential at this stage (although you must be willing to work towards this or the Level 9 Residential Childcare Qualification). Ideally you should have some experience of working with children and/or young adults with autism / learning difficulties and have the ability to engage/relate to them through effective communication skills and the ability to deal with complex and challenging behaviour. You must be willing to work flexibly in both care and education settings, recognising that a different skill set is required and appropriate in each to support the child/young person in their physical, psychological and emotional development.
