The Role
We now have an exciting new role for an outstanding Lead Horticulturist Reporting to the Assistant Team Manager with the support of the Team Manager.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- To assist Assistant Team Managers (ATM) with the daily operations of Horticulturists, Voluntary Work Placements (VWP’s) and Volunteers.
- To assist ATM with the nursery operations, including Plant Collections, Native Species programmes, daily maintenance of various growing environments and feature gardens.
- To ensure team members including Horticulturists and VWP’s adhere to Health and Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- To further develop our Plant Heritage National collection of Nepenthes.

The Package
- Contract Type – Permanent
- Working 10 days in 14 including weekends and bank holidays as rostered. 7:30am - 16:20 all year round.

Our Requirements – Lead Horticulturist
- Have proven practical horticultural experience with a wide range of horticultural skills and have good plant knowledge.
- A NVQ Level 3 qualification in Horticulture or equivalent experience.
- Have some experience supervising a team.
- Hold PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates.
- An ability to network with other partners to develop our plant collections.
- As Chester Zoo has recently been accredited as a ‘Botanic Garden – Conservation Practitioner’ to have current best horticultural practices related to conservation initiatives.
- Experience of using horticultural machinery and monitoring Health and Safety compliance.
- Hold a full driving licence valid in the UK.
- Good communication skills to engage with other staff and deal with visitors, public talks and requests for information from outside sources.

Description
Joining us as a Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship offers the opportunity to begin a career in the leisure industry within the exceptional environment of Uppingham School Sports Centre. Working as part of a friendly and professional team, the role combines practical, hands-on experience with formal training and nationally recognised qualifications over an 18-month programme.
Day-to-day work involves supporting the safe and welcoming operation of the Sports Centre for pupils, staff and public members. Time will be spent poolside carrying out lifeguarding duties, assisting customers, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, and supporting the smooth running of activities and events. The Royal Grammar School, Guildford is seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced Teacher of Piano from April 2026. The School has an exceptional keyboard department with over 100 boys currently studying the piano in the school, ranging from beginner to diploma level.
Every year, we have pianists who play to Junior Conservatoire standard (and beyond) as a matter of course, with most having achieved an ARSM in their younger years at the school before going on to develop into the kind of pianists who can perform concertos with a professional orchestra.
The post will initially involve working with pianists at the earlier stages of their musical development, but with scope to expand and develop the role in the future for the right candidate.
The successful candidate should have the ability to inspire, support, and encourage pupils, with a proven track record of success and a passion for working with young musicians across a wide range of styles and skill levels.
You will be teaching approximately 12 pupils (equating to 6 hours’ worth of teaching per week) although this may well increase. Lessons are 30 minutes long and the expectation is that you will teach 30 lessons for each pupil over the course of the academic year. This position is offered on a self-employed basis.

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Care Supervisor (Days) to lead and supervise care teams at Maurice House.
Work pattern: 37.5 hours per week, 3 shifts over 7 days between 07.45 - 20.15
As Care Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will create and update care plans that prioritise individual needs, promoting health, well-being, and independence. Assessing and managing risks will be key to ensuring beneficiaries feel safe while maintaining their autonomy. Monitoring physical, mental, and psychological health will be a core part of your role, ensuring timely interventions when needed.
You will also manage shifts effectively, mentor team members, and foster a positive and supportive working environment. You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement by engaging in quality assurance activities, training, audits, and policy development.

We’re looking for someone with:
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care or equivalent.
- Level 3 Team Leader/Supervisory Apprenticeship Standard (or willingness to work towards it).
- Experience in a care home, adult health, or social care setting, particularly supporting older people and those with dementia.
- Strong skills in assessing needs, creating and evaluating care plans.
- Experience in safe medication management, including ordering, storage, administration, and disposal.
- A compassionate approach to end-of-life care.
- A commitment to continuous professional development, especially in dementia care.

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is recruiting two Gardeners on a full-time contract to work across all gardens of the five Shakespeare family homes and other grounds.
Working as part of a small team you will be helping in the day-to-day maintenance and presentation of the five gardens, ensuring that they are ready for the public. You will be able to talk knowledgeably to visitors whilst working in the gardens and confidently answer their questions.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced gardener, ideally having a horticulture qualification. You will have a keen interest in horticulture and experience of horticultural methods and practices and using horticultural machinery. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, have a proactive approach to work and be a good team player.

What is the Open Door Project?
The Open Door Project delivers outreach support to rough sleepers and vulnerably housed people across Newport. We aim to improve to support the wellbeing of individuals and develop the skills and confidence needed for future independent living.
We reach out to support homeless people sleeping rough. We reach out to support homeless people in temporary accommodation. We host a drop-in 7 days a week and we ensure our support is available across multi-agency locations
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead our early morning outreach provision, traveling across the city centre and nearby locations assertively engaging with individuals who are sleeping out. Your role will be essential in the assessment of rough sleepers, promoting safety and creating pathways into accommodation. A caring and compassionate approach is essential, alongside an ability to robustly record essential data.
- Taking a collaborative approach, working with a wide variety of statutory and voluntary partners, supporting homeless people.
The successful candidate(s) will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge around homelessness and the key needs experienced by vulnerable homeless people
- Demonstrate great communication and IT skills
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Hold the ability to work in sympathy with the spiritual principles of The Salvation Army
