Job Purpose
Advisor:
As the SOL Connect Advisor you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and independence of the people we support. Providing responsive remote support over our video conferencing HUB, you will apply traditional care and support skills and experience using bespoke technology.
The people that we support may call in using their HUB technology for a chat, some reassurance, or reminders to take medication or lock up at night. Others may call in at times of distress or when their mental health has deteriorated. SOL Connect Advisors possess a unique set of skills that enable them to seamlessly move between calls, delivering compassionate care and support remotely.
Please Note - This position involves extended periods of sitting and screen time.
Responder:
Whilst on shift as the Responder, you will provide out of hours support to the individuals supported by the organisation and contribute to the efforts of Support Ordinary Living to fulfil its mission and purpose.
The role is a night shift-based role and would require the post holder to react as and when required to requests of support from individuals. The role will be based within one of the SOL Offices which are in Glasgow and Wishaw. You would be required to work across all offices on an as and when required basis.

To audit and assess the quality, compliance, and safety of electrical works carried out by both in-house electricians and external contractors, ensuring full compliance with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and Riverside’s internal policies. The role covers the full cross-section of building services electrical systems, including but not limited to domestic and communal electrical installations, emergency lighting, fixed wiring, portable appliance testing (PAT), electrical heating systems, direct hot water cylinders, and compliance inspections (EICRs). Additionally, the role involves collaborating with external third-party auditors to drive continuous improvement and maintain industry-leading safety and compliance standards, while specifically protecting and maintaining the DLO’s NICEIC registration.

The role will involve:
- Providing advice, guidance and coaching based support via phone, virtual meetings and through online webchat.

• Experienced in children’s, youth, or schools-based ministry, with relevant qualifications or equivalent experience
• Confident in training, advising, and supporting adults in ministry and volunteer roles
• Relational, collaborative, and able to build strong partnerships across diverse contexts
• Organised, adaptable, and creative in approach
• A confident communicator with children, young people, and adult leaders
• Aware of diversity, culture, and church traditions and able to nurture inclusive practice
• Able to travel across the Diocese, including some evenings and weekends

The project is a new initiative aimed at increasing entrepreneurial opportunities for migrant Roma communities in Glasgow, providing culturally sensitive, multilingual business support, empowering Roma individuals to start and grow their own businesses. This will create a pathway to economic independence, improve social inclusion, and help achieve Glasgow’s Net Zero ambitions by supporting sustainable business practices within the Roma community. Migrant Roma in Glasgow often face significant challenges in accessing support for entrepreneurship due to cultural misunderstandings, language barriers, and a lack of services tailored to their needs. Roma Start-Ups is a pilot programme designed to provide specialist business support to Roma entrepreneurs in Glasgow, helping them to formalise, grow, and sustain businesses. We will deliver one-to-one and group mentoring, business training, financial literacy support, and access to funding opportunities, ensuring culturally tailored, multilingual services. This pilot will empower Roma individuals, women, and young entrepreneurs, enabling them to transition from informal trading to registered businesses. - Record client details once a referral is received
- Make initial contact with clients over the phone to assess
- Contact the Money Mentors with client details
- Contact the Money Mentors, passing on information they might find useful
- Refer clients to any other sources of help or support which KingsGate has identified
- Operate within the code of practice, policies and procedures of the service
- Undertake appropriate training
- Attend Money Mentor gatherings
