Percussionists (Tuned)
Trinity Concert Band
Reading's Trinity Concert Band currently have vacancies for percussionists. We have a regular kit player, so the majority of the playing would be on tuned percussion. If you play to a high standard, have previous ensemble experience and can commit to weekly rehearsals and regular concerts, we’d love to hear from you!
We are a non-auditioning band, but to assess your suitability we’ll invite you along for a four week trial period to see how you get on. If we are mutually compatible you will be invited to join permanently.
Rehearsals take place at Trinity Church, Earley on Tuesday evenings from 7:45pm-10pm.
One of the UK's leading non-professional community wind bands, Trinity Concert Band entertain audiences in and around Berkshire with our high quality concerts featuring music to suit all tastes. Our repertoire includes classical transcriptions, original wind band compositions, music from stage and screen, and light popular music. We perform up to five formal concerts a year at venues in Reading and Wokingham, and summer brings the opportunity to put on light performances at bandstands across the area.
We are regular entrants at the National Concert Band Festival, a day long festival of music where bands are judged on their performance. In April 2018, the band travelled to Manchester where we were thrilled to be only one of two bands to receive the coveted Platinum Award!
Our annual full-day workshops give us the opportunity to take on some new, challening repertoire under the direction of a guest conductor. Previous conductors to take our workshops are Nigel Hess, Rob Wiffin and Duncan Stubbs (both were formerly Principal Director of Music, Royal Air Force) and David Cole (former Director of Music, The Royal Marines Band Service, and assistant producer of the annual Festival of Remembrance).
We've previously toured to Germany, the Czech Republic and Malta, with plans to tour again in the near future.

We are looking for the following person from 1st of June 2026 or upon agreement,

Your main duties include:
• Analyse readily available and new multi-sensor geolocator data to infer migration
trajectories of individual birds of multiple species.
• Conduct fieldwork and aid project collaborators at various places across Europe to gather
geolocator tracking data of individual birds.
• Model annual energy expenditure of the tracked birds at different temporal scale based on
locomotion, thermoregulation, basal metabolism, and tissue synthesis.
• Work with past climatic data and future climate models to establish environmental
influences on optimal bird migration strategies from an energetic perspective.
• Present at international conferences and publish your findings in international scientific
journals.
Your profile

- Keen interest in bird migration ecology and evolution.

They gain the power to shape their own narrative and expand what is possible, individually but also through collective action. Working in Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Syria, Seenaryo uses theatre and play to support people to heal, lead and learn. We co-create performances with under-served communities, train future leaders and transform classrooms through play. Reaching over 175,000 children, youth and women since 2015, Seenaryo won the Resilience in Action Award at HundrED 2024, the Arts, Culture & Heritage prize at the 2023 UK Charity Awards and was one of Expo 2020 Dubai’s 120 Global Innovators. Mission By breaking apart the typical hierarchies of theatre and classrooms, Seenaryo creates playful spaces in Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine where all individuals can meaningfully participate as collaborators, creators and catalysts for social change. We do this by co-creating theatre with groups of adults and children, by training youth and women as theatre leaders, and by training teachers to teach their curriculum through play. Aims: ● Facilitate skills development by supporting individuals to build social skills, life skills, critical thinking and wellbeing ● Challenge mistrust and polarisation by bringing conflict-affected communities into dialogue with each other ● Create wider and alternative employment pathways and professional capacity within classrooms and communities ● Transform teaching and learning to become child-centred, engaging and inclusive ● Advocate globally for play-based learning and participatory theatre in the Arab region Programmes: ● Seenaryo in Schools: Through the Seenaryo Playkit, we transform classrooms to become participatory and child- centred. The Playkit is an app and training for teachers of 3 – 8 year olds, which gives them the skills to teach their curriculum through theatre, games, songs and stories. ● Seenaryo in Communities: Using a participatory approach to theatre, we facilitate the production of powerful, imaginative and collaborative plays, which puts participants at the centre of the creative process. We also train former participants to lead theatre projects in their own communities. Seenaryo Roster Background To enhance programme delivery and ensure consistent, high-quality implementation, Seenaryo is launching a Consultants Roster consisting of external technical specialists across Lebanon. The roster enables Seenaryo to quickly access vetted professionals whenever additional expertise is required. Applicants will be shortlisted based on CV, work samples and recommendation letters. No interview process is required. Selection will be based on past experience with Seenaryo or the quality of new applications. While the roster aims to expedite the process, the principles of fair procurement principles must be upheld: anyone may apply to be included in the roster; vetting and selection must be justified based on objective criteria; candidates are given equal opportunity to bid for jobs where they might be qualified; the process and documentation clearly show no undo bias influenced the decision; any potential conflict of interest shall be mitigated. All accepted consultants become pre-qualified, meaning Seenaryo may engage them without conducting a full procurement process for each assignment. Each applicant must provide their indicative daily rate in USD when they apply to the roster, meaning that it would be subject to negotiation with the program according to their background when they are considered for a specific assignment. The proposed daily rate must include all costs so that the Seenaryo programme might only cover travel and accommodation expenses separately as needed. Areas of Expertise The roster includes qualified professionals across the following specialisations: 1. Trainers (arts and education) 2. Facilitators (arts and education) 3. Theatre directors 4. Are you a talented musician who loves sharing church music with young people? Are you flexible in your approach and someone comfortable with a range of music from modern to traditional?
This is an exciting and well-funded five-year project where four neighbouring churches have come together to employ a musical director to set up and run choirs or singing groups for young people in each of our contexts.
The successful applicant will be a talented musician, keyboardist and singer, with experience of running choirs and of teaching young people.
