Two gentlemen and three ladies who Dimensions support at their home in Frimley would like some new Support Workers to join the team who enable them to live an independent life.

The people we support who are aged in their 50’s-60’s, and have learning disabilities, are an outgoing group. They would be happy meet Support Workers who would like to get involved in the things they enjoy, such as:

• Helping them to and from day service
• Going to the pub for lunch every Friday
• Shopping trips for clothes and things to decorate their rooms
• Refereeing darts matches (at home)
• Helping out with puzzles and quizzes
• Drawing
• Taking care of the house cat

The people we support want you to know that not all of them use works to communicate but they have other ways of letting you know what they want. If you have not had to communicate in this way before, don’t worry. As Dimensions provide all Support Workers with full training.

The role will be a mixture of early (7.30-15.00) and late (14.30-22.00) shifts and Support Workers will need to do 1 sleep-in shift a week. Dimensions are pleased to offer a pay rate of £12.92 per hour for this role (sleep in shifts are paid at an allowance of £50 per sleep in).

As the people we support have access to a vehicle it would be desirable if Support Workers hold a full UK/EU driving license.

programmes.

1.2 Types of Provision that may you be required to work/cover

Y-Hub - is delivered across two key strands of youth work approaches: A Drop-in Youth Club,
which runs on a Friday evening during school terms and an Outreach/Street-Work provision that
is delivered different nights of the week to meet the needs of young people and the community.
Our foundation, our aim and our drive is to create communities where young people truly belong,
contribute and thrive. In just a few months of delivering this provision, we have witnessed what
an invaluable service, Y-Hub is in achieving this. Y-Hub is genuinely a life-changing and at times
a life-saving project. The Street-based aspect of the project involves responding to areas of risk,
where young people are vulnerable to exploitation and more. Outreach has filled a desperate
need  within  the  town  centre  of  Swansea,  where  Youth  Workers  have  provided  quality
preventative and intervention youth work support for young people. Our street-based provision
focuses on building effective relationships with young people based on trust and respect and
building up a rapport, where they may then want to access other centre-based provision.

GoodVibes - is an inclusive LGBTQ+ Youth group, that supports young people between the
ages  of  11-25.  It  runs  every  Tuesday  evening  where  it  provides  a  safe  space  that  reduces
feelings of loneliness and isolation. Young people can build peer friendships within a community
so that they belong, contribute, and thrive. It is a group where young people can be surrounded
by likeminded individuals in an environment that promotes respecting other people’s choices,
citizenship, and cultural identity. It provides young people with the confidence to explore their
own  identity  around  people  that  really  understand  and  care.  GoodVibes  operates  on  the
foundation of strong values of inclusivity and diversity. Young people can come to GoodVibes
without fear of judgment, harassment, bullying or discrimination and social pre-conceived norms.
They  can  be  100%  themselves  and  have  a  safe  space  to  explore  their  identity.  It  is  a  group
where  young  people  can  come  and  introduce  themselves,  their  names,  preferred  names,
pronouns, and favourite things. And what they receive from each other, and youth workers is
acceptance, without questions.

Young Carers - Runs every Wednesday evening during school terms. This is an opportunity for
Young Carers aged 8-18, to have a break from their caring role, meet other Young Carers and
participate in different activities to support their physical, social, and emotional wellbeing in a
safe and friendly environment. Young Carers club is about providing fun and interactive activities
for young people, that may not get many opportunities outside of this provision. to be around
their friends building peer networks and gaining new experiences. We provide free transport to
and from the sessions for Young Carers who may not be able to access the sessions due to
transport being a barrier.

We are now looking for Senior Support Workers / Intervenors to join our Intervenor Service in the Hertfordshire area, working across various locations such as Cheshunt.

Our Intervenors work 1:1 with children and adults who were born deafblind known as congenital Deafblindness, often with other complex needs, working with them and their family or carers to develop a way of communicating.

Intervenors promote personal and social development whilst encouraging independence through enabling access to activities.

You will receive specialist training in how to support individuals who are congenitally deafblind, often combined with other disabilities.

This role might include supporting people with:

• Day to day activities led by the person you'll be supporting.

• Enabling an independent lifestyle.

Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Care & Support Worker to join our team at Corn Mill Court, St John's Street Galashiels, Scottish Borders TD1 3JY. This is an excellent job opportunity for those who live in and around Galashiels and the Scottish Borders.

As a Care & Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in supporting older and vulnerable adults in their own homes. Operating between 7.00am and 10.00pm seven days a week, you'll provide assistance with daily living tasks based on individual care plans. Whether it's administering medication, personal support, or helping with meals, your empathetic approach will make a real difference to our tenants' lives. You’ll have the time to get to know our residents and are trusted to give each person the care and support they need, in the way they like.

• Location:Corn Mill Court, St John's Street Galashiels, Scottish Borders TD1 3JY
• Hourly Rate:£13.00 per hour
• Availability:Flexible shifts (morning and back shifts) including alternate weekends
• Guaranteed Hours:20.25 hours per week worked over average 4 days on a rolling 2-week Rota basis, with a mixture of weekdays and weekends, day shifts and back shifts

Care & Support Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate:

• Has experience in the care sector and working with older people or other vulnerable members of a community, so you will understand their needs and know how to meet these.
• Holds an SVQ in Health and Social Care or relevant qualification.
• Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills.
• Possesses basic IT skills.

Previous experience is preferred but not essential; we provide comprehensive training and support. What matters most is your passion, empathy, and dedication to helping our tenants live their lives to the fullest.
