We are looking for a detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for audiences, performers, and staff at our theatre. This role is essential to ensuring high standards of cleanliness across all public and backstage areas.

The Role
Key Responsibilities

- Emptying waste and recycling bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points
- Sweeping floors with brushes or dust control mops
- Mopping floors with wet or damp mops
- Vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets and rugs
- Using electronically powered scrubbing / polishing / machines to scrub, polish, spray and clean floors
- Dusting, damp wiping, washing or polishing the furniture, ledges, windowsills and external surfaces of cupboards, radiators, shelves and fitments.
- Replenishing consumable items (soap, toilet rolls, paper towels) if required
- Cleaning toilets, urinals, hand basins and sinks
- Using chemical agents as required in the discharge of cleaning operation or maintenance procedures whilst following guidelines for use.
- Emptying waste and recycling bins or similar receptacles, transporting waste material to designated collection points

The Role:

Role ProfileDeliver an Allocation & Letting Service:
• Liaise with external stakeholders to deliver an effective referral pathway into the service/properties
• Ensure occupancy targets are met, through lettings and refurbishment of empty properties in line with the scheme’s re-allocation procedures
• Allocate properties ensuring customers meet the criteria, affordability and required landlord checks
• Meet with customers to provide practical support with setting up a new tenancy, ensuring all documents are complete and liaising with external stakeholders if required
• Show new customers the accommodation and communal amenities, clearly communicating tenant responsibilities and compliance to enable them to fulfil and maximise their tenancy
• Visit new customers to make sure they are settling into their accommodation and are being supported to follow their tenancy agreementDeliver a Housing Management Service:
• Be responsible for ensuring empty properties are referred to Asset colleagues for void works, following the void procedure to ensure rooms are ready-to-let
• Report and monitor the delivery of reactive repairs within properties to ensure they are maintained and health and safety compliant

Canterbury – covering Thanet, Deal and Canterbury areas.
£34,531- £36,348 per year plus £600 car allowance
37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
We are seeking a Housing Officer to join our Kent Housing team that is part of the South East Region. You will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service that meets the identified needs of customers and the wider community. You will be working in a professional manner to resolve problems and improve services. Each day will involve working as part of a team to respond to resident tenancy related queries in person, email and telephone as well as addressing concerns involving residents homes, the environment and neighbour relations.
The role of Housing Officer will include:
- Effective management of anti-social behaviour cases
- Liaising with colleagues in Property Services and Lettings to ensure the effective allocation of void properties
- Managing tenant expectations regarding repairs and escalating any property maintenance issues affecting tenant welfare via appropriate channels
- Managing complaints about service delivery
- Working with colleagues in other service areas to help the organisation meet its compliance obligations (fire safety, water hygiene, gas safety and data protection)
- Delivering general advice on all aspects of tenancy to enable sustainability
- Working closely with administrative colleagues to complete a range of tenancy management processes
Skills and experiences:
- Proven experience of undertaking a similar role
- Prior experience of delivering high quality tenancy services
- Excellent skills in analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing solutions
- Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external customers
- Excellent customer service and negotiating skills
- An understanding of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and good practice
- Travel is a requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential
