What we expect from you
- Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) (or working towards it). If you have an equivalent qualification, you must be willing to undertake (and complete within 18 months) the Level 5 diploma once in post.
- Experience of working with looked after children and young people, in a residential setting.
- Experience of managing and supervising staff.
- The knowledge, experience and confidence to successfully register with OFSTED.
- The ability to manage challenging, and stressful situations, remain calm whilst inspiring your children and team through the difficult situation.
- The ability to maintain good monitoring of Quality and Assurance across your service.
- The ability to provide inspirational leadership to your team, supervising and leading your team. Whilst maintaining good communication at all levels.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team including commissioners and external professionals / parents.
- The confidence and ability to lead an Ofsted inspection, aspiring to achieve a GOOD or Outstanding outcome.
- The ability and willingness to learn to use BCFT electronic systems.
- The ability to nurture and support your team to achieve excellence for the children.

Role Responsibility

Our adult substance use service in the London Borough of Redbridge is seeking professional and motivated recovery practitioners, who work in a trauma-informed way to deliver evidence based psychosocial interventions in one-to-one and group settings.
This rewarding role has scope for growth and innovation within a supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.
The main purpose of this role is to provide excellent quality of care aligning to the CQC Key Lines of Enquiry and underpinned by Via’s Values, that supports people to make meaningful change in their health and wellbeing, by reducing or stopping their use of alcohol or drugs. Some responsibilities of the role include:
- Comprehensively assessing new people for treatment and ensuring they are provided with opportunities to start treatment as soon as possible following assessment.
- Providing one to one behaviour change interventions to your own caseload, using Via’s Core Model of psychosocial interventions, and other evidence based interventions such as ITEP mapping, that are relevant and appropriate to their goals, substance use, and stage of recovery.
- Working with clinical colleagues to ensure people are accessing clinical interventions, such as OST prescribing, relapse prevention prescribing, or community detox, are supported and management appropriately.
- Ensuring those on your caseload are effectively engaged, reengaged and discharged, according to local operating procedures.
- Providing and documenting relevant harm reduction strategies and interventions offered to them, according to their risks.
- Ensuring their risk assessments, risk management plans, and care plans are regularly and collaboratively reviewed with them.
- Maintaining effective oversight and management of safeguarding cases on your caseload, supported by the local safeguarding leads and your team leader.
- Support service delivery including duty cover and group facilitation.
- Professionally and effectively communicating with other professionals involved in their care as needed.
The role is predominantly based in Ilford Town Centre with some requirement at time to external meetings and satellites within the borough, and to other Via locations as needed.

About Us
Birmingham and Solihull Women’s aid have for over 45 years supported women and children with services around domestic violence and abuse. Could you be a part of our team as we continue our mission to end domestic violence and abuse?
The region’s leading charity in tackling violence against women and girls, BSWA offers a helpline, webchat, drop in and and community support as well as emergency accommodation in six refuges across the area.
Projects supports women in the criminal justice system, in healthcare settings, and throughout the community, offering support to women and children experiencing domestic violence. Alongside this, we also have staff offering training and consultancy to businesses and health and social care professionals alike, raising awareness on gender based violence issues.
We seek like-minded women to join our enthusiastic team of workers, all of us passionate about the vital and valuable work we do to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse, and tackling the wider issues of violence against women and girls.
Key Responsibilities
To develop and deliver family support and play sessions to children, young people and their mothers in refuge and the community. To lead on domestic violence awareness raising sessions with children/young people and professionals.

Fostering Coordinator
Are you passionate about dog welfare and building supportive communities?
As a Fostering Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in helping dogs thrive outside the kennel environment, recruiting and supporting volunteer foster carers, ensuring high standards of care, and working closely with adopters to find permanent homes.
What does this role do?
As a Fostering Coordinator, you will:
- recruit, assess, and induct new foster carers, promoting the scheme through events, conversations, and collaboration with colleagues across Dogs Trust,
- support foster carers with regular check-ins, arrange veterinary appointments, and provide access to behaviour or training support when needed,
- deliver training to foster carers with input from the Learning and Development and Welfare teams, either one-to-one or through organised group sessions,
- identify and place suitable dogs into foster care, including temporary placements for long-stay dogs needing respite from kennels, and carry out necessary intake assessments,
- promote dogs in foster or Home Stay settings by preparing profiles, contacting potential adopters, organising matching meetings, and completing all adoption paperwork.
Interviews for this role are provisionally scheduled for Monday 2nd February 2026 at our rehoming centre in Ballymena.
Could this be you?
With experience of working with volunteers and of handling and rehoming dogs, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and ability to support fosterers as they provide temporary care to our dogs. You'll need an understanding of best practice in interacting with volunteer fosterers, combined with fantastic customer service skills.

About the Role
As an Enhanced Care team Recovery Coordinator, you will be employed by Waythrough to support higher need service users who are unable to progress their timeframe due to their multiple-needs. Multiple needs include but not limited to; chronic physical health, comorbidities, financial issues, memory/cognitive impairment, age, housing, limited social support and other multi-agency support needs.
This is an interesting and rewarding role where you will have the flexibility to complete greater levels of outreach and go to service users to reduce barriers to engagement, support them to engage with specialist services, bring the intensive support and interventions to the individuals and enhance positive outcomes through this flexible working.
What You’ll Do
The post holder will provide holistic support to adult service users to support their drug / alcohol treatment. Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Assess and engage with those individuals identified to have multiple needs who require a more flexible way of working including outreach support to reduce identified barriers to engagement with mainstream support in a service setting due to their identified additional needs.
- Manage a service user caseload and review on going care and treatment liaising closely with the full range of specialist workers within the multi-agency team, including family members and significant others, as appropriate.
- The role will include but is not restricted to conducting home visits, supporting clients to appointments with various services/specialisms as well as meeting individuals in the community.
- To exercise excellent communication skills and therapeutic skills when dealing with Service Users, Carers, and Caring agencies.
- To work closely and in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team from across the Forward Leeds partnership and externally providing advice and guidance to managers and other colleagues, through attendance at reviews, team meetings and group supervision and via the telephone.
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:

Foster Carer (Mainstream)
Self-employed, home-based role
Maximum payment: £628.40 per child per week
All foster carers are self-employed, but your fostering approval is held by Foster for Bradford, Bradford Children and Families Trust’s fostering service. About the Role
Foster carers provide a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people unable to live with their birth families, supporting their emotional, educational, and social needs.
You will look after a child / children or young person, depending on your skills and age preferences, in your own home as part of your family.
You will have access to support from a social worker and on-going training.
You will need to go through a series of checks – including home checks and police/ local authority checks, along with anyone else over the age of 16 in your home.
Essential Requirements:
- You must be over 21 years of age
- You must have a spare room available for a foster child. The room should have a window and be big enough to hold a single bed and a chest of draws/ wardrobe
- British citizenship or leave to remain in the UK
To be successful in this role you will need:
- The ability to work as part of a team who will be working to support the child
- Ability to keep records in English
- Ability to keep going in difficult times
- A basic understanding of child trauma – training will be provided
Different types of foster care:
Short term fostering
These are stays of a few nights up to three years, depending on the care plan. The greatest need is care for:
- School Age Children and Teenagers
- Sibling groups to keep brothers and sisters together
Specific help you may provide includes helping teenagers prepare for independence or a return home; parent and child fostering (usually mum and baby) supporting them to develop parenting skills; helping children with any missed schooling and development of routines; encouraging education and participation in activities.
Long term or permanent fostering
Children often need a long-term foster family until they are ready to fly the nest.
Most children are aged between 7 and 12 years old when they come to stay with their long-term foster family.
Short Breaks (minimum commitment one weekend a month): full and part-time opportunities available
Our short-break care service offers breaks for children including disabled children and their families. Some occur weekly, others monthly and some just in the school holidays.
Holiday care for foster families – full and part-time opportunities available
Weekend or holiday stays for children and young people but can be required for occasional weekdays. These stays may be planned regular breaks and / or ad-hoc breaks to support foster children and their families. Most foster carers offer this as part of their support to other foster families.

Birmingham Forward Steps is a citywide service delivered collaboratively by Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust working alongside Barnardo's, and other voluntary organisations, operated across 10 districts for children and their parents/ carers from shortly before birth up to the age of five. The service, commissioned by is designed to provide all families of pre-school children with accessible, community-based services in their own homes, GP surgeries, children's centres and a number of other community venues such as places of worship or libraries, with extra help available to those that need it.
Barnardo's is directly managing 4 of those districts and we are seeking to recruit a Full time - 37hours per week – Early Years Outreach Worker for our Doddington Green Children's Centre/Edgbaston Family Hub.
As an Early Years and Outreach Worker, you will be required to:
- Provide and promote Stay & Play sessions for target families that promote child development.
- Provide and promote positive play within the Early Years Foundation Stages for children, and support parents/carers in how they play with their children to encourage good child development.
- Provide crèche facilities for under 5s while their parents/carers participate in parent focused activities/programmes.
- Undertake follow up visits to families who are seen to have not engaged with the service at the Health Visitor mandatory visits.
- Support the delivery of Baby Club activities to meet the health and development needs of children and families who attend.
- Collect and help collate evidence that demonstrates outcomes for children.
- Ensure suitability, safety and cleanliness of toys and other equipment, replenishing the supply of toys as required within the constraints of the budget.
- Support parents who have children under 5 with SEND needs ensuring inclusive practice and signposting to additional specialist support as required.
- Make effective links to family support ensuring all relevant information is shared, as appropriate, in relation to the children and parents.
This role will require you to travel independently across the Edgbaston District therefore you must be flexible and adaptable, particularly in relation to working hours and location. A full driving licence and use of your own vehicle would be an advantage.
