We’re looking for a Female Support Worker to join our friendly team in Bromsgrove, supporting three individuals with profound learning disabilities, ADHD and autism. If you are enthusiastic, caring and enjoy creating meaningful experiences for others, this could be the role for you.
Who You Will Be Supporting
You will support two ladies and one gentleman, aged from their 20s to 60s. Each person has their own personality, preferences, and support needs. They enjoy:
- Cinema trips, theatre visits and bowling
- Walks, meals out, and day trips (including the beach)
- Spending time with people who have a good sense of humour
- Daily outings and social activities
Communication needs vary; one person uses Makaton, and all benefit from positive behaviour support. Two individuals require support with personal care, including continence care. One lady uses a wheelchair when out in the community.
Families are actively involved, and strong communication is highly valued.
Your Role
You will provide person-centred 1:1 support that helps each individual live well, stay safe, and enjoy meaningful activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
Personal care
Supporting two individuals with their daily personal care needs.
Medication administration
Following training and guidance to manage prescribed medication.
Meal preparation
Preparing meals and supporting healthy routines.
Promoting independence
Encouraging confidence, decision-making and daily living skills.
Meaningful activities
Planning and engaging in activities tailored to each person’s interests and needs.
Communication and emotional support
Supporting individuals who communicate differently, including using Makaton and other strategies.
Positive behaviour support
Responding confidently and respectfully to behaviours of concern, with full training provided.
We are looking for someone who is firm with boundaries, yet warm, creative, positive and energetic.
Shift Patterns
We are currently looking to cover one long-day sleep-in and one long-day shift.
Typical shifts include:
Day Shifts:
- 8:00am – 8:00pm
- 9:00am – 4:00pm
Sleep-In Shifts:
- 8:30am – 8:30am the following day (includes sleep-in)
- 9:30pm – 5:30am (£50 per sleep-in)
Rotas are planned in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.

About the role:
As a Domiciliary Support Worker you will assist people with daily living tasks which may include, domestic services, social support, personal care, support with medication, meal preparation, and managing their finances.
You will also support with activities within their local community and must be happy in all weathers as many of the people we support lead active lives.
This role is supporting individuals with varying levels of learning disabilities and Autism, you would also be required to cover Sleep-in’s.
The role may comprise various shifts including mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends, sleepovers will include an allowance.
Previous experience is desirable for this position, but don’t let that put you off, if you have the right enthusiasm and a can-do attitude, we want to hear from you, as full training will be provided. You will be expected to work in Part of your training will include several shadow shifts with an experienced member of staff.
Must be over 18 years old and have a UK full driving license.
A DBS for both adult and children will be required for this role.

Turning Point support individuals across the country and we are currently recruiting support workers for supported living locations across Cheltenham in Woodmancote and Hatherley.
Where will I be working?
You will be working at one of our supported living services in Cheltenham – GL51. We offer 24 hour support to people with LD (learning disabilities) and Autism. The level of care required will vary across our services. Some of the people we support have a profound and multiple learning disability and complex health needs others need assistance with daily activities, personal care, medication and mobility as well as daily living tasks.
We endeavour to create positive family relationships offering a good circle of support. There is a strong focus on supporting individuals' lives in a person centred way which includes various activities, shopping, managing own budgets and cooking. We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible.
Shift Patterns
This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 9:30 pm, floating shifts during the day and some weekends. You will need to work every second weekend.
Please note that weekend work is mandatory.
Role Responsibility
What will I be doing?
This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- promoting the independence of people we support
- supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday
- arranging activities in the home and in the local community

Where will I be working?
Norman Mount is a purpose built house in the BD2 area of Bradford; the house is home to four adults with a learning disability who are supported to live as independently as possible in their home.
This role is for 1-1 support for a lady at Norman Mount for community support and will include supporting her to access activities she enjoys locally, supporting her with her eating/drinking and continence support.
We endeavour to create positive family relationships offering a good circle of support. Training and Development
We offer training to all those who want to develop their skills and competencies not just in the care sector but in other areas too.

Please note training will be offered after your probation period ends which is 6 months. Once you begin your training with us you will have your own coach who will support you through your programme.
