About the role
Supporting Tenants works with young people who are either moving into their own homes, or who are currently at risk of becoming homelessness due to the fact they are struggling to manage their current accommodation.
As a tenancy support worker, you will work as part of a team to provide intensive and structured one to one support to a caseload of young people and young families using a strength-based approach to achieve the goal of sustaining their accommodation.
The role involves developing the skills and confidence of young people and empowering them to achieve identified goals and maximise independence within the timeframe for support. The role involves some lone working with young people some with a variety of multiple and complex needs.

Research Scientist – RNAi factors and mechanism in Candida albicans

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Scientist to join the Buscaino Lab at the Quadram Institute.
This Wellcome Trust–funded project aims to identify novel components of the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway in Candida albicans using a biochemical approach. The post holder will be based at the Quadram Institute and will work closely with Prof Alessia Buscaino and members of her research group, as well as collaborating with two key external partners: Prof Kevin Foster (University of Oxford) and Prof Ana Traven (Monash University).
Background
The successful candidate will lead experimental work to identify and characterise novel C. albicans RNAi components using biochemical approaches. This will include applying advanced biochemical and molecular biology techniques for multi‑protein complex purification, functional analysis and molecular characterisation.
The role
The role will also involve conducting genetic experiments to support the functional investigation of RNAi components and integrating results within their biological and mechanistic context. Expertise in protein‑complex purification and strong experience in molecular biology are essential.
This position is highly collaborative, and the post holder will work closely with both internal team members and external collaborators to drive a multidisciplinary effort to uncover new RNAi mechanisms in fungal pathogens. The post holder will also contribute to scientific publications, prepare conference presentations, and present findings at national and international meetings.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated experimental scientist to work at the interface of fungal biology, RNAi mechanisms and biochemistry, within a vibrant and interdisciplinary research environment at the Quadram Institute.
The ideal candidate
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or related discipline. They will have excellent understanding of protein biochemistry as well as expertise in protein‑complex purification.
Demonstrated experience in isolating and purifying multi-protein complexes using biochemical methods in addition to strong experience in molecular biology are essential.

Salary on appointment will be within the range £37,500 to £45,350 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time post for a contract of 24 months.

About the research group
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, was established in 2018 at the Francis Crick Institute. The lab’s primary focus is understanding cell decision-making. Current areas of research include understanding regulatory mechanism regulating cell fate specification, cell cycle remodeling during cellular differentiation and the interplay between metabolism, cell cycle and cell fate. There is a strong focus on single cell analysis and advanced live cell imaging. The lab uses a variety of model systems: mouse and human embryonic stem cells (ESC), 3D organoid models of mouse and human development and mouse embryos.
The team is multi-disciplinary, diverse and currently composed of three PhD students, two post-doctoral fellow and one principal laboratory research scientist. The Santos lab promotes independent and creative thinking and all members are committed to providing excellent training and mentorship.

What you will be doing
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (SLRS). - Be responsible for overall management of the Birmingham LGBT Centre and ensure compliance with current policies and legislation, including Health and Safety, Data Protection and Employment Law.

Although an NGO, the Foundation operates to make the circular economy a reality at the highest levels of global organisations and governments. This means it requires operations which are nimble and aligned with creating new market opportunities.
Role Summary
As Chief Operating Officer, you will play a key strategic and operational leadership role at the Foundation. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the organisation, ensuring alignment between the Foundation’s mission, people, systems, and impact. Working in partnership with the CEO and part of the global executive leadership team, you will help scale the Foundation’s work globally while safeguarding operational excellence, financial sustainability, and a thriving internal culture.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operations
Translate the Foundation’s strategic goals into effective operational plans.
Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact.
Drive the execution of key organisational initiatives, especially as the Foundation scales its influence globally.
Expand internationally, whilst maintaining a consistency in operations in every region.
People Leadership & Culture:

Financial & Legal Oversight

Ensure that funding and expenditure aligns with strategic priorities and donor requirements.
Governance & Reporting
Support the CEO and Board of Trustees with timely and accurate reporting on performance and operations.
Ensure that operational policies and procedures meet the highest standards of transparency, ethics, and sustainability.
Systems & Technology
Lead the optimisation of technology and infrastructure to support collaboration, measurement, and impact.
Drive continuous improvement through the adoption of best-in-class operational tools and systems.
Experience
- Proven experience (15+ years) in a senior operations leadership role, ideally in the mission-driven sector, or with a private sector background and experience of non-profit or philanthropic organisations.
- Demonstrated track record of managing complex organisational functions with a global footprint.
- Experience of realising new business models and revenue model constructs.
- Deep understanding of impact-oriented work, with an affinity for the circular economy and sustainability.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, compliance, and strategic resource allocation.

The Role
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a new role within the museum and forms an integral part of the Senior Management Team (SMT), overseeing the day-to-day running of the site and leading some of the organisation’s core business functions, including visitor experience, finance, commercial and operations. The post holder will develop a motivated staff and volunteer community, continuously seeking to improve the quality of the visitor offer and increase the commercial success of the museum.
