Specific responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of specialist, trauma-informed support to adults and/or families living in refuge recognising the impact of domestic or sexual abuse, harm or violence, and responding with empathy, respect, and consistency.
Contribute to an environment where support is psychologically informed, compassionate, equitable, and grounded in integrity—where every individual feels safe, heard, and supported.
Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and organisational policies, maintaining a trauma-informed, reporting concerns to your line manager without delay
Carry out Initial Contact Assessments, working alongside refuge or on call colleagues identifying together which support options best meet the individual's needs and preferences, prioritising need and risk
Support individuals to access refuge, including arranging transport if needed, offering a warm and respectful welcome, meeting immediate needs (e.g. donated clothing, food), and helping them settle into their accommodation.
Assist individuals in understanding and completing initial paperwork in a timely and supportive manner, including licence agreements, House Expectations, housing benefit claims, and service charge arrangements.
Undertake basic support activities, as requested by a Support Worker or senior colleague, in line with an individual’s support plan, needs assessment, risk assessment, safety plan and licence agreement/contract

Provide support to colleagues and residents in the event of an incident or emergency at another refuge, contributing to a coordinated and calm response.

Complete handovers at the end of each shift, both face to face and via email, to ensure consistency, safety and shared understanding across the team.

We are seeking a compassionate, organised person who will work with unpaid
Carers, Young Carers and their families to identify and access supports that will
assist them within their caring role creating their own Personal Plan or Young
Carers Statement. A key task will be to promote social inclusion by facilitating
opportunities for Carers to build networks of support so that they are more
connected within their community and have links with other people and
resources that are important to their health and well being.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Family Support Worker to join our growing team delivering Tier 2 Community Family Support across Newcastle and Staffordshire Moorlands.
Overview:
This is more than a job – it's a chance to stand beside families in their most challenging moments and help them to get the right help at the right time. Working in homes and communities, you'll provide tailored early help support to prevent issues from escalating.
As the named Lead Worker for each family, you’ll coordinate joined-up care with partners including Family Hubs, schools, health services and voluntary groups. You’ll assess needs, write action plans, carry out regular reviews, deliver hands-on support, and help families achieve sustainable change.
You will need:
Hours: 30-hours per week, Monday to Friday (days can be flexible)
Salary: £13.06 per hour

Our team provides flexible intensive family support across Glasgow that enables children and young people on the edges of care, and their families, to receive the right support at the right time, building on their strengths.
The Family Support Worker will work in partnership with the Health & Social Care Partnership and other family support providers to share resources, learn and create solutions that will help children, young people and families to thrive.
This role is part time working 25 hours per week, for a fixed term period of 18-months.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Provide peripatetic support to our Children and Families services in Glasgow, Young People and Family Support and Common Ground
- Provide a minimum of 2 Common Ground outreach shifts per month. Shift times are Friday and Saturday 4pm to 10pm in Glasgow City Centre
- Develop good communication and working relationships with children and families, colleagues and other professionals
- Work alongside all immediate family members and extended family/support network as required
- Support children and families in the local community
- Deliver evidenced based family support that helps families overcome current challenges and build resilience for the future
- Maintain accurate case files for all family members and consistently assess progress across all outcomes
- Plan, implement and continuously develop packages of tailored interventions for families to meet the needs of the individual child, their parent(s)/carer(s), siblings and wider family network, including practical support, parenting education and support, and emotional health and wellbeing
- Assist individuals accessing the programme to engage and integrate into their local community
- Undertake whole family assessments that focus on strengths and continuous assessment of progress towards outcomes for all family members
- Ensure delivery is aligned with the UN Convention on The Rights of The Child
You have the autonomy to manage your own diary to reflect the needs of the families you are supporting. One backshift of 2pm-10pm is required per week with the flexibility to work an additional 11am-7pm if required, hours are worked 5 days over 7. The majority of your work is in the community supporting families.

- The post holder will report to the Senior Family Support Worker
- Your normal working hours are 25 per week, worked between the hours of 8am and 10pm, Monday to Sunday, in shifts defined by your line manager on a rolling rota over a 52-week period.
- Your usual place of work will be 15 Dava Street, Glasgow, G51 2JA. You are also required to work in the local community and you will be paid travel expenses from your usual place of work and appointments undertaken in the course of your duties. Alternatively, you may choose to work remotely from your home address where appropriate. Working arrangements must be agreed with your line manager based on the needs of the service.
