About the role
We’re looking for a female Support Worker to join our team in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (IP33). This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week, with shifts typically running 8?am–8?pm or 10?am–5?pm, including alternate weekends. The pay rate is £13.55 per hour.
You’ll be supporting a young woman in her 20s who lives independently in her own flat. She’s active and loves swimming, bowling, trampolining, and days out at the beach, so you’ll need to be a confident swimmer and ideally a driver to help her get to places of interest. At home, she enjoys arts and crafts, movies, music, and singing along to nursery rhymes. She has epilepsy so you’ll receive specialist training in emergency medication and Positive Behaviour Support. Communication is key, she doesn’t always use words, so you’ll use visual aids to build trust and encourage independence.
About you
You’ll bring energy, confidence, and a warm personality to the role, with the ability to stay calm under pressure and respond with compassion. Experience supporting people with behaviours of distress or epilepsy is helpful, but full training will be provided. You’ll need to be comfortable with personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration, and willing to work flexibly, including weekends. A full UK driving licence is preferred.
