Family safeguarding sees specialist adult-focused practitioners – with expertise substance misuse – integrated within children’s safeguarding teams.

This exciting and rewarding new senior role will provide you with the opportunity to be part of this integrated team, carrying a reduced specialist caseload whilst also providing support, advise and oversight to your colleagues in the wider Via West Berkshire Service in safeguarding caseloads and matters.
The role will involve:
Open Access Services and Harm Reduction• Providing expert advice and information and training to the multi-disciplinary team.
• Providing advice and information to parents/service users.
• Provide harm reduction triage assessment, motivational interviewing and brief and extended interventions
• Providing an outreach service to parents whose children are subject to Child in Need or Child Protection plans.
Structured Programme for Substance MisuseThe child and family substance misuse workers refer those who require structured treatment into the main pathways within Via West Berkshire
Recovery SupportRecovery focused, mutual aid, peer mentors and ongoing recovery activities have been identified as fundamental to building recovery capital and supporting a client’s recovery journey.
Supervisory responsibilitiesProving line management, support, advice and guidance to an internal team of safeguarding practitioners and acting as named safeguarding lead for Via West Berkshire Service
The core hours of this role will be Monday- Friday 9am until 5pm, but there may be some occasional out of hours work which would be considered on a rota basis.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
As an Enhanced Care and Support Worker, you’ll provide high quality person-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities who may display behaviours of concern. Your role is to support people to live as independently as possible in their own homes and communities, promoting inclusion, dignity, and meaningful participation - in line with their Outcome-Based Support Plans and SOL’s mission, vision, and values.
As an Enhanced Care & Support Worker you will:
- Provide compassionate, person-centred care and support in individuals’ own or family homes, promoting dignity, choice, and inclusion.
- Assist with personal care (e.g. bathing) and daily living tasks (e.g. cooking, cleaning, shopping), encouraging independence wherever possible.
- Safeguard individuals’ health, wellbeing, property, and finances, and respond appropriately to concerns or emergencies in line with SOL policies.
- Support individuals to make informed decisions, maintain positive relationships, and take part in their communities through valued social roles.
- Proactively manage behaviours of concern by identifying triggers, applying positive behaviour strategies, and using appropriate de-escalation techniques.
- Communicate effectively using methods suited to individual needs, including verbal, non-verbal, visual, and gesture-based approaches.
- Work collaboratively as part of a consistent and flexible support team, attending meetings, handovers, and reflective sessions as required.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of support, plans, and outcomes using SOL’s digital systems.
- Uphold SOL’s values and reputation and act as a role model for best practice in all interactions.
- Ensure compliance with SOL policies, SSSC Codes of Practice, and regulatory standards.

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a a passionate and proactive Upstream Practitioner to join our Team based in Manchester.
About us
Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity. We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. We provide homeless young people with accommodation, mental health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 young people each year.
This full-time, school-based role is part of our Policy and Prevention directorate and reports to the Senior Upstream Practitioner. You will play a key role in our pre-16 prevention pilot, helping to identify and address the root causes of youth homelessness.
As an Upstream Practitioner, you will administer surveys to students aged 11–16, conduct holistic assessments, and provide early intervention support. You will work closely with families, schools, and community services to ensure sustained positive outcomes. The role also involves leading workshops, maintaining a caseload, and collecting impact data to support continuous improvement.
We are looking for a confident practitioner with experience supporting children and families. You should be skilled in risk assessments, have strong communication abilities, and be committed to safeguarding and trauma-informed practices. Knowledge of local services and qualifications in Family Mediation, Social Work, or related fields are desirable.

As Student Support Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that every student thrives at Brunel. Rooted in the Union’s commitment to empower students, you will provide vital administrative support to our Advice and Student Voice Teams.
You will ensure a welcoming, respectful and inclusive atmosphere within our reception area, ensuring every student feels listened to, valued and safe. You will be a consistent and supportive first point of contact with Union services and provide information and basic signposting on a broad range of issues. Through this work, the Student Support Administrator directly contributes to students feeling informed, supported and empowered.

Insight Lewisham provides free, confidential support to young people under the age of 25, offering guidance around substance use, sexual health and relationships, and support to families affected by these issues across the borough of Lewisham.
About the Role
The Children, Young People and Family Practitioner plays a key role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based substance misuse support to children, young people and families across Lewisham. Working within Insight Lewisham, the post holder will use a whole-family, trauma-informed approach to address the impact of drug and alcohol use on children, young people, parents, carers and families.
The role involves working across the full treatment pathway, from engagement and assessment through to intervention, recovery planning and ongoing support. You will deliver targeted and specialist interventions designed to reduce harm, build resilience, strengthen family relationships and improve long-term outcomes for children and young people.
The post holder will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and alongside education, health and community partners to support early identification of need and ensure children and families receive timely and appropriate support. Creativity, flexibility and a strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusion are essential to successfully engage with young people and families whose needs may be complex.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver targeted and specialist drug and alcohol interventions to children, young people and families affected by substance use, using a whole-family and trauma-informed approach.
Provide specialist substance misuse support to young people at risk of, or currently using, drugs and/or alcohol, supporting informed decision-making and resilience building.
Undertake assessments, engagement and collaborative recovery planning, providing effective case management across all stages of the treatment journey.
Deliver a range of evidence-based psychosocial interventions, including 1:1 sessions, group work and structured family interventions.
Lead and support the delivery of family-focused programmes, including parental programmes, Hidden Harm interventions and Family, Friends and Carers (FFC) support.
Work in partnership with education, health and community services to promote early identification, coordinated support and positive outcomes for children and families.
Maintain accurate, timely and high-quality records, contribute to service development, and work collaboratively with colleagues to support continuous improvement and safeguarding best practice.
To Succeed in This Role, you will need:Essential

We are looking for positive, compassionate and caring Support Workers to join our team in Haywards Heath on a full time, permanent basis (37.5 hours per week)
We would prefer you to be a driver but this is not essential.
We support three people who share their home and who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, autism, sensory impairment and physical disability. The people within the service have a busy schedule and love to be out and about, they enjoy a variety of hobbies and interests. We use a dynamic approach to enable the people we support to communicate through alternative tools and methods, such as using Makaton or a photo translation book.
As a Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, sleep ins and weekends. The best thing about flexibility It's a two-way street, while we may require that you work a variety of shifts, we also understand that you’ll have your own commitments and we will try to factor this into our rotas.
We are looking for people with a ‘can-do’ attitude who are strongly motivated, outgoing, caring and have a calm demeanour when needed.
