About the service
Sense Scotland Dundee Respite is registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide a care home service for people with a learning disability and additional complex needs, including but not limited to, communication, behavioural support and sensory impairment.
Situated in the heart of the city and delivering 24-hour person-centred support, the service runs short breaks, respite and residential care seven days a week, all year round.
The core aim of Dundee Respite is to provide a fun and stimulating service unique and developed in consultation with the people we support and their families. The service provides opportunities for those who use it to access a range of activities both within the building and in the wider community, depending on individual wishes and aspirations. It offers an environment for people to meet up with their peers, enjoy leisure time together but also develop independent living skills.
The support delivered is unique to the person supported and tailored to their social, emotional and physical needs.

The Role:
The people we support have a range of different needs including Mental Health, learning disabilities, Acquired Brain Injuries, addictions and past trauma. You’ll take an active interest in their hobbies with include going out for walks and to their social clubs, volunteering and shopping. About you
Due to some of the complex care needs within our service, we're looking for people who bring experience of providing care and support within the Health & Social Care sector who have the confidence to lone work and manage behaviours that can challenge.
We will also need you to bring a commitment to studying for and achieving an SVQ (SCQF level 7) and completing training and further qualifications which are identified as essential for our service. About the role

Are you a passionate Specialist Sleep Practitioner ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? Together Trust is looking for a Specialist Sleep Practitioner to provide personalised advice and support to parents and carers of children and young people with sleep difficulties across all age and ability ranges and specialises in helping autistic people and those with complex communication needs.
What You will do;
- Manage a case load of individual family referrals.
- Assess the child’s sleep problem to determine its nature and any contributing factors.
- Work with families to develop a sleep plan encouraging the child or young person to develop positive sleep habits.
- Provide advice and support to parents who are implementing a sleep programme.
- Contribute to the organisation and delivery of sleep clinics and workshops.
- Maintain high service standards and contribute to quality improvement across the Therapy & Specialist Support Service (TSS) Service in line with the needs of the service and evidence-based practice.
- Work independently and use own initiative.
- Apply evidence based and child centred principles.
- Offer advice, training and guidance to other professionals as required.
- Be accountable for all aspects of the role working to professional guidelines and Together Trust policy.
