Buckinghamshire Mind is looking for a

Supported Self Help Practitioner.

The Supported Self Help Practitioner is responsible for supporting a caseload of clients to work through self help resources and plays a key role in our Prevention Services and our partnership with Citizens Advice Bucks. The purpose of this role is to work 1:1 with people who are experiencing financial struggles, providing information, signposting and guidance through self help resources.

Contract Type: Fixed Term 12 Months with possibility of extension
Location: High Wycombe
Hours:30 hours per week – Tuesday - Friday
Salary: £26,000 pa (full time), pro rata £21,081.08

We promote wellbeing and recovery; we prevent mental ill health; we offer talking therapies and we provide support in times of crisis.

Key Responsibilities

Supported Self Help is an early intervention service co-produced by national Mind and Local Minds and informed by Lived Experience. Clients seeking support at Citizens Advice Bucks will be referred to support self help based on their needs.

Manage your own calendar and a caseload of clients.
Understand the needs of clients and support them through different self help pathways.
Refer clients to higher levels of intervention when required and/or signposting to other services that might help them to maintain their wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have

Relevant experience or qualifications for the role equivalent to NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
Experience providing mental health/wellbeing services in a primary care setting.
A person centred approach and the ability to listen and empathise with people in a non-judgemental way, motivating them to engage in self help activities.
