We have an exciting opportunity for an Individual Giving Officer (Retention) to join the Commercial Directorate at Help for Heroes and play a key role in building long-term supporter relationships that help fund life-changing support for the Armed Forces community.
About the Role
As Individual Giving Officer (Retention), you’ll sit at the heart of how Help for Heroes builds long-term, sustainable income. You’ll lead the delivery of multi-channel retention campaigns and fundraising appeals that strengthen supporter relationships, increase lifetime value and ensure our supporters feel valued, informed and inspired to continue their support.
You’ll own retention activity across cash giving, lottery and regular giving - shaping campaigns from idea through to delivery, optimisation and evaluation. Using insight and performance data to continually refine supporter journeys, test new approaches and ensure every communication adds value to the supporter experience.
Working closely with the Individual Giving Officer (Acquisition), you’ll help create a seamless journey from first gift to long-term loyalty. You’ll collaborate with colleagues and external agencies to deliver high-quality, compliant campaigns that reflect the experiences of veterans and their families.
This role offers real autonomy, variety and influence, with your work directly contributing to a strong, engaged supporter base and long-term income growth.
About You

Job Description
We are looking for two Business System Analysts to join the team, ensuring the successful delivery of a comprehensive and modern Student Management System over multiple years. Initially these posts are for an 18-month period, but with the intention to extend subject to stage-gate approval of the full programme.
The two Business Systems Analyst posts will work closely with the programme team and stakeholders across the University to identify, define and document business processes and software requirements integral to the Student Management Systems programme.
Successful candidates will have significant professional experience working as a business systems analyst and be proficient in standard business analysis techniques to gather information and convert it into the necessary documentation to support the procurement, implementation, and change management activities related to the programme. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with stakeholders. You should be experienced with traditional and iterative project management approaches and be familiar with the full software development lifecycle.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 6, £38,784 - £46,049 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.

About the research group
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, was established in 2018 at the Francis Crick Institute. The lab’s primary focus is understanding cell decision-making. Current areas of research include understanding regulatory mechanism regulating cell fate specification, cell cycle remodeling during cellular differentiation and the interplay between metabolism, cell cycle and cell fate. There is a strong focus on single cell analysis and advanced live cell imaging. The lab uses a variety of model systems: mouse and human embryonic stem cells (ESC), 3D organoid models of mouse and human development and mouse embryos.
The team is multi-disciplinary, diverse and currently composed of three PhD students, two post-doctoral fellow and one principal laboratory research scientist. The Santos lab promotes independent and creative thinking and all members are committed to providing excellent training and mentorship.

What you will be doing
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (SLRS). You will investigate spatio-temporal control of cell division and cell cycle remodelling during cellular differentiation using 2D and 3D stem cell-based models of human gastrulation. You will also drive a research project and contribute to collaborative projects within the lab. As an SLRS, you will benefit from excellent mentorship and training and a vibrant and collegial scientific community within the Santos lab and at the Francis Crick Institute.

Program Summary
The PROPEL Africa Project (Pathways to Resilience, Opportunities, Professional Employment and Learning) aims to address the persistent challenge of youth unemployment and underemployment in Liberia, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda. Currently, young people encounter systemic barriers to securing dignified employment, arising from misalignments between skills development and labour market needs, and inadequate access to financial resources. Implemented by JA Africa and Mercy Corps, PROPEL responds to these challenges through a dual approach: equipping underserved youth aged 15–30 with relevant, demand-driven business, employability and life skills, while simultaneously improving the way the labour market works for young people.
Position Summary

This includes providing strategic and technical guidance, planning and managing activities, identifying and managing partnerships with financial service providers (FSPs), and recruiting and managing consultancy support to ensure the availability and use of youth-friendly financial training and tools, and catalyzing market solutions that expand opportunities for underserved youth.
Essential Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead financial inclusion strategy across program countries to enable young people to access, use and benefit from formal and informal savings and credit products, including through digital services and channels
- Conduct market assessments to identify barriers and opportunities for youth financial access.
- Provide technical guidance on youth-friendly financial products and partnerships with FSPs, fintechs, and MFIs.
Program Quality & Innovation
- Ensure financial inclusion interventions align with market systems development principles.
- Support pilots and scale-up of innovative financial solutions.
- Work with the MEAL team to assess financial inclusion outcomes and adjust strategies.
Partnership Management
- Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions, regulators, and ecosystem actors.
- Support negotiation of partnership agreements and co-designed interventions.
Capacity Building
- Train country teams and partners on financial inclusion approaches.
- Provide ongoing mentoring and technical support.
Finance & Compliance Management
- In collaboration with the countries operations and finance departments, ensure proper financial management, procurement, administration, human resources and logistics (including transport and asset management) needs of the program are conducted within Mercy Corps’ policy and with the maximum benefit to the program.
Security
- Work closely with the country team’s security focal point to develop and maintain systems that promote the safety and security of all team members.
- Ensure that PROPEL activities are designed and implemented with a clear analysis and understanding of security.
Organizational Learning
