I am a retired disabled man living near Upper Boat / Rhydyfelin, approximately 3 miles from Pontypridd. I am looking for the right person to join my existing team of five Personal Assistants, providing support mainly in my home and occasionally with external activities.
Hours Available
- Monday afternoon:approx. 1:30pm – 5:30pm (£53.60 per shift)
- Saturday afternoon:approx. 1:30pm – 5:30pm (£67.60 per shift)
- Total:8 hours per week

The Role
You will carry out the same duties as my other PAs, supporting me with daily activities and maintaining my independence. Full induction will be provided, including the opportunity to shadow an experienced PA.
Experience working with paralysis or wheelchair users would be an advantage but is not essential, as training will be given.

At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 26 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.
About the role
We’re looking for a Desktop Technician to join our Digital Business Support Team, providing IT support for our staff, volunteers and patients.
Our Desktop Support Technicians:
- Support bespoke applications, desktop & laptop systems, and mobile devices
- Troubleshoot printing devices and network connectivity problems
- Provide support to staff with all existing systems and supporting staff IT training
- Support the rollout of new projects
- Play an active role in the on-call team to support the hospices out of hours
Much of this role is focused around supporting users with their digital needs and providing excellent customer service.
You’ll be working in an environment that offers insight into many aspects of the IT industry, such as enterprise level network security, ICT planning, documentation, and high-end hardware. You’ll also be provided with a training programme to develop your skils and knowledge.
This position is office-based at our Warwick Hospice, with occasional travel to our other sites when required. You’ll usually work during office hours, Monday-Friday, with some out-of-hours, on-call work, on a rota.
Similar roles include: IT Support Engineer; IT Technician; Helpdesk Assistant.
About you
To be one of our Desktop Support Technicians, you’ll need:
- Experience with and good working knowledge of desktop systems, hardware, drivers and security
- Abilities in installation, diagnostic, upgrade and restoration
- Skills in teamwork, time management, customer service, problem-solving and communication
- Continual professional and personal development
The workload can be varied with periods of increased pressure and deadlines, so problem-solving and time management are key.
A standard DBS check will be required, because this role involves some interaction with patients. We will arrange and cover the cost of this check if your application is successful.

Neil is nonverbal and uses his own version of Makaton to communicate. Neil loves going out in his car, he likes going to local parks, riding bikes, going on the swings, playing basketball or just being out for a drive. Neil attends a day centre Monday - Friday for a few hours a day and does not require support while he is there. On a day in the house Neil likes to sit and watch movies or listen to music. He enjoys nursery rhymes and his favourite movie is Shrek. Neil requires support with all aspects of his daily life like medication administering, meal preparation and personal care.

James does not use words to communicate and his staff need to be very observant as they will read his facial expressions to gauge how he is feeling and what he needs. James enjoys long walks and keeping active, some of the activities he likes include bowling, swimming, going to the gym and visiting museums. James is sensitive to sensory input and can be triggered in situations that are new to him or where he doesn't feel comfortable. James' staff will need to support him through these times and will receive full training in order to do so.

Mary loves going out in her garden, especially to feed the birds. Mary enjoys going out for a drive in her car and will sing her favourite songs along the way. A typical day for Mary would be spending time looking at her favourite items, singing songs and having a chat and spending time with the people around her. Heidi is looking for outgoing personal assistants that can support her everyday hobbies. She loves to watch TV shows and playing games that are mathematically based! Heidi has an excellent memory and loves dates, time and anything numbers. Heidi enjoys spending time watching her favourite shows such as count down and other quiz shows. She enjoys going out to local cafes, historical sites and going out to local events. Heidi is looking to build her social skills and gain confidence in social settings within the community. She also enjoys sensory experiences and enjoys visiting the local library.
Heidi's support is based in Kirkwall and is within walking distance of all amenities. Heidi's support is delivered as part of team so personal assistants will works as part of close team of support workers to provide support.

Enable offer a variety of different shift patterns across 13 services, specifically Heidi's shift times are as follows:
9am-3pm
9am-9pm
9am- 9pm- overnight support shift

Flexi part-time Support Worker – Residential service
Minimum 48 hours per month – Permanent current
Since first opening our doors in 2005, Autism Initiatives Ireland has provided specialist autism services for adults across our Residential, Respite, Day, and Community Support Services.
